Still, its snappier than we are used to GO BOOTSTRAP GIRL!!!

I know your pup was glad to walk!!  That's the one thing about having an aussie dog - I NEED to walk her so I do not have to choke her.  :}

I was sure that fella got her to torture me when I was heavier.  It still could be true.

I have SAD too and it helps me tremendously to go and tan in a stand-up tanning bed.  I usually only go once a week for only 12 minutes unless there has been no sun for several days and I might go twice a week.  It helps immediately.

Hi Mary,  Thanks for sharing!  I'm in California so I'm not sure what my excuse is....yes...it's been colder than normal, cloudier than normal, pretty typical fall weather for us.  I'm just crabby lately...maybe it's the holidays?  I love them and sometimes I hate them...maybe it's early sobriety?  maybe it's "my reaction" to a controlling co-workers....who is driving "me" nuts....so much so that I'm taking a mental health day off today......aaaahhhhhhhhhh
Food has been so friendly to me....I eat very healthy in the AM, Lunch, bu****ch out after work....last night I went to TJ's and did some shopping...I only needed coffee, soymilk and dog food, but I got other healthy stuff to cook and then......I......walked....past....the....dessert......display.....OMG!  I just had to try the lemon tart and the eggnog cake....and I did.....it was delicious...must add that in the old days I would have eaten both that night, but didn't this time...thank God for VSG!

No kidding about being thankful for my vsg!! I know I ate like crap yesterday (chocolate, bread and butter the whole day) But I would be surprised if I went over my calories for the day. I did resist going to the store yesterday cause I knew I would come back with things that I don't need. It was a little scary yesterday because it was the first time since surgery that I knew I was eating for comfort and I didn't try and stop it...know what I mean? I was digging around the kitchen looking for stuff to eat. thankfully, there was not much there because I subscribe to the 'out of sight, out of mind' theory and don't bring that stuff in my house.

I've read that it is not necessarily bad weather the effects people, but the short daylight hours. I am going to make an effort to get out in the sun everyday. Walked the pup this morning in the sunshine (and 35 degree temp with 15mph wind, but won't mention that part) and it did wonders for my mood.

I do the same thing with the cold and riding. The bad thing is I know I am good temp wise into the 30's on my bike with my gear...and I know I am fine once I get going, but I still have a hard time getting going.  I do go out riding at least once a week cause I go with hubby and he doesn't listen to my excuses, LOL! I did get an indoor trainer.  It is sitting in my living room right now starring at me!

I try to get to sleep earlier so I get more rest and sunlight exposure. I also do the tanning once or twice a week and it helps immensely and is very good for you despite what you hear mainstream media telling you.

If you prefer not to tan you can take vitamin D supplements but they don't have the same benefits as natural sunlight or tanning salons do.  If I get really moody I take St. John's Wort.

Well up here in the north, Toronto Canada it gets pretty cold (-16 this morning...3 in F) but Toronto is very sunny so sun glasses on all winter.

I do winter sports : downhill skiing and ice skating so i look forward to this season every year. In fact I can't wait for the x-mas rush on my  site to slow down so we can go hit the slops.

I think if you find something you love doing every season the weather is just the weather :-)

This is also a good season to try some new and exciting indoor sports : wall climbing , marshal arts, indoor roller-skates and so on - I am sure you have tones of things to do in Dallas!

also how cold does it get there?

It certainly doesn't get cold enough for me to use it as an excuse not to ride, LOL! But in my defense, I am from south Louisiana and I start to freeze when the temp drops below 70 degrees.
