Vent on my friend... but once you are done I bet you know that it is most likely water weight from all the salt tucked away in the feast- did you really eat 1750 extra calories over the holiday? Knowing you, it seems dubious... I am weird in that I refuse to sweat the small stuff. I have a 10 lb range and if I stay inside of it I refuse to care about fluctuations- it would require way too much mental space considering my weight changes fractionally up or down almost EVERY single day. Give it a week before you worry, and even then... just for perspective: it is only a 1/2 pound... 1/20 of a typical "bounce back"... You are FINE!!

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

It is not petty at all Diane.  A lot of feel the same exact way.  I don't think it's the half a pound that is really bugging you but the fear that this is only the beginning of an upward trend.  We are new at this weight loss thing and don't trust our bodies yet to do the right thing.  I suggest lots of exercise if you aren't already doing it.  It does make things easier on the scale : )

I am up a few pounds and I don't want that 5-10 regain but I am really fighting it. Between my birhday, and being around  all the Halloween candy, now Thanksgiving, it's been hard to stay on program. I have to get this few off cause it's driving me nuts.

hey Jimbo, you have lost more than any of us so you can be as naughty as you like. I just gave it that title because it seemed like such a petty thing to be *****ing about but of course i had to do it anyway. out of my system. feel better now. D

It is exactly these kind of posts we need in this group.  I think we are all concerned about weight re-gain.  I mean, isn't re-gain the reason we decided to go with surgery in the first place?  I'm sure we all expert dieters, but we have not mastered maintenance.

Let's go girls (and guys)!!!!!

Thanks Diane.

This reminds me how pre-op I didn't quite understand why people freaked out so much when they stalled for like a week.  NOW I get it.  Every time you see a little gain or weight loss slowing down, you wonder if that's it for you, if you are going to fail again as you have many times in the past.  So I GET it for sure.. don't think it's petty at all.

I too totally get it!!!! For me the time where I really had to star****ching what I was eating was at about 3 years post op. Up until that I never gained, but for some reason at 3 years I started to gain just a little. I also did not want the 5 to 15 pound regain and in the last 3 months have gone back to weighing myself daily. I really like my weight now and I love all the new clothes I bought and never want to not be able to wear everything in my closet. I remember in the "old days" before VSG, I had lots of things hanging that I couldn't wear because they didn't fit anymore. I NEVER want that to happen again, so if weighing myself is what I have to do to stay at this weight. I will do it daily with a smile.

ok, as of this morning that annoying half pound is gone. so must have been water or whatever because though i watched it these last few days, i still don't think i either ate enough excess before, or cut back enough after, to actually gain and then lose that half pound. was never one to obsess about the scale during weight loss phase. got to NOT get into that habit. Its just that I like so much being at this weight that I can't stand the thought of it changing.

Having said that, I hope I have learned something here which is not to be so fixated on that number and to focus more on healty habits. easier said than done. and i still am missing some socks......D
