not eating & drinking rule
that is interesting. for me, I only like to drink alcohol until I eat food, then I am done wanting any.
but regular liquids I just drink whenever, except after meals (when I would like a cup of coffee) because I have no room.

i followed these rules reasonably well during weight loss phase. less so now. though i find i don't have much ability to drink much fluid until a while after a meal so i sort of end up stuck with it anyway. I do sip a little during a meal if i feel the need. guess it was always 10 min before and 30 to 40 min after for no fluid. d
I drink up until and then not after for at least an hour. For me, it also makes a huge difference in when my hunger returns.
Case in point, last night I had a superdelicious frozen mojito at this place in town we went to (never had been there before). I usually do not have alcohol, but it was our anniversary, and I was not the DD, so had some drinks - anyway - fella was fussing that there were no chips served before the meal, and I was *(secretly) thankful! Because honestly - between chips and booze, I would rather have chips!
But I just got to have my mojito and then chips! (because I order meaty loaded queso when we go Mexican fooding - because well - I obviously have a thing for chips. :} )

In all honesty (which I have promised to be on these boards), I have not followed the no eating and drinking rule. I really believe it is more for RYN than us ... but that being said, if I find that I start getting hungry sooner the farther I get out, then this is the first thing I will start doing.

I never followed the rule on purpose, but did because I couldn't do both at once for a long time.
what a wonder about is the old non-WLS diet idea to have soup as your first course to "fill you up" - liquid can't both make you feel more full or hungry faster, can it? or can it?
