Hey, I too am worried about this so called 10 or 15 lb regain effect. I have heard Dr. Cirangle say this is pretty common. But I would like to hear from all the longer term sleevers in this group if that is true. I think Mikey is right that this data comes from RNY people and I am not sure there is any data on sleevers for this. Lapsf will have their 5 year sleever study out pretty soon. Hope it addresses this. I lost a little below goal for this reason and not because surgeon told me to. Gonna try to remember to ask this at support group in a couple of weeks. anyone going to a support group sooner might ask as well.

I for one do not want to regain 10 or 15 lbs and be back to the old diet struggle. I want to maintain pretty close to this weight. For one thing, if I gain 10 lbs those sparkly a$$ jeans won't fit! Can't have that!. Again, great report Mikey. Lets all share results of our follow ups. My one year is going to be probably in january even though I am a year now, but want to push the blood panel expense into next year for insurance reasons and doctor ok'd this. D
28 months out and I regain 18 pounds from my lowest.   3 pounds (back down).  If I do not get back down to my lowest, 150,  with a 5'5 frame,  I will be okay to hold at  160-165.

It is better than my highest 310 !

are you eating anything you want? or do you stick to low carb?  the reason im asking is because im wondering if the regain they are expecting could be the regain we will get if we add enough carbs, to restock our glycogen lvls because with the extra water weight that goes on with it... that could be up to 10lbs

I think my regain was contributing to many carbs,  junk food eater.  An issue that I must control.

Also,  I  do have water weight gain too.  Being age 52,  the metabolism factor is definitely a factor as well.

I can say that this is  the only route that I have taken that I have
not regain at least 20+ pounds back !!

well when you ready, if you need the support to get it off we all here for you.   I think its wonderful that even with people eating junk, dont seem to regain it all, which is something i did every time i lost it pre op lol, so it shows that the sleeve does have our back so long as we dont go crazy...

I think we are all in the battle to prove the "typical" weight gain theory wrong.  I may be naive, but anytime a "professional" uses the term pouch, I tend to only 1/2 listen.  If they don't even know that I have a stomach, do they really know anything else?

And why, do they all assume that it will all stretch.  Everything that I've read & been told is that the tissues left are very resistant to streching.  I firmly believe that and believe that the "extra" room people discuss around the 1 year mark is due to nerves and tissues completing their healing.

Of course, I may be wrong ... but I've literally bet my life that I'm right on this one.  I want to use this tool for all it's got.  I love my size 6/8 body and I'm going to keep it!  Who's with me?????
