vitamins questions
Had labs done yesterday and found out I am still anemic. I take Vitalady's tender iron with Vit C.
I guess I am going to have to add some prunes in there. Iron is so consitpating and prunes are high in iron and should also help with constipation. Kill 2 birds with one stone.
I take sub lingual Vit B, B comples, biotin ( don't ask me why, I don't think it helps) a hair and nails vitamin, celebrex for my aching back and neck, Vit D 3 50,000 once a week, and I had to go back on my protionix cause I could not stand the heartburn and aching stomach. I was off of it for 6 months and the dr. told me yesterday I had to go back on it. I also take caclium citrate.
What are we supposed to space out? I know you can't take the calcium citrate within 2 hours of the protonix.
Is there anything else that I am suposed to space out and not take close to something else? What about the iron? am I supposed to take that by itself and not near any of the rest of the stuff?
It's such a juggling act to take it all in the time periods you're supposed to take it . I have to keep it in my purse to remember to take stuff when I am supposed to, instead of not having it wtih me when I am supposed to take it.
Any advice is very appreciated. Just becuse I have most of my stomach gone, I don't want to be deficient in anything!

Somebody posted this a while back--it's Vitalady's suggested supplement protocols for the various surgeries. (I think she wants WAY too much for us--I don't take this much and my levels have been normal for 3 years). But it's helpful for a starting place, and she also lists what should be taken with what, so that might help...

hmmm, can't offer much help as I know little about anemia, but I do know that Dr. Jossart reccomended prunes over any fiber supplement or other thing for the "c" issue. I eat three or four every morning and they work plus i think they taste good. also very high in potassium. while we sleevers can't get all our vitamins and minerals from supplements, getting what we can from foods is a good thing.
