True Confessions.....
I have found that the farther out I am from surgery(2-1/2 years), the easier it is to make myself throw up. At first(first year) I think I threw up maybe twice. After the honeymoon period and you've been maintaining for a wile, you eat a greater variety of food, you forget the rules that you lived by, and start doing things you shouldn't. I would get this pain at the lower end of my esophogus that nothing would aleve. I rarely have this happen, but it has happened several times, usually at a party or gathering. You start to graze throughout the night, while drinking and don't realize that you're taking in more food than your new stomach can handle. I am now able to just go in the bathroom and throw up. Mind you, I was the kind of person that NEVER threw up, no matter how badly I felt. Now, I get that "feeling", walk into the bathroom, and just stare at the toilet, and voila!
Not something I'm proud of, but I'm just letting you guys know how things change as time progresses. My husband gets very upset at me if I start to head into the bathroom after I eat, always assuming I'm going to throw up, which really p*sses me off! Again, I think it's happened maybe 10 times in the past year, which sounds like a lot, but it's not bulimia, where people throw up 10 times a day!

I have had the same experiences at 28 months out.
I so can relate. Just like you, mines started after about a year out.

I woke up this morning and ask myself why I did this last night. Was I hungry? I sincerely doubt it and "my head' said "hey, let's have something crunchy and "I" did. I always have a problem with cereal because I love to drink the milk in my bowl. Whenever I mix liquid with food, it's not good. Some of you know that I am sober (125 days) and have gone back to AA. And, there's a saying in AA.....Am I too tired, hungry, lonely or angry. The one that gets me "everytime" is "tired", but I have to watch out for all of them.
Love you guys, thanks to all who commented. Have a great day!
No WAY could I ever hide recreational vomiting!
And too, I think when your needs to puke, it will. Misseye was worried she could not vomit either and then one day posted it as a questionable NSV. :}
