Remember when and the good ol' days

I don't know, I'm still convinced that hair loss doesn't really have much to do with protein. I was consistently getting in 100 grams of protein after surgery but still lost about half of my hair. :(

I am finding the further out I get that I can eat more often. I guess it's that faster emptying that I've heard about. Boo.

Reflecting....
The good- I am now able to drink water!  I was one of those unlucky ones tha****er sat like a chunk of iron in my stomach.  I can drink it now, but still not as much as if I put some crystal light or apple juice in it.  Go figure!

The bad- I have become such a lightweight, that I get myself in trouble!  I am one of those who enjoys a glass of wine now and again on the weekend.  The problem is that at exactly 1-1/2 glasses, I'm done.  If I don't pay attention, I will pay for it later.  This Saturday we went to a party at a pub and I had one glass.  The waitress offered me a second and I said no, my husband said yes.  When she showed up with it, and I drank it-all.  That's 2 glasses.  A third one showed up- I don't remember when, or who did the ordering (we were with about 20 people).  All I remember is that 1/2 way through that glass, I realized that was my third glass and that I was drunk!  So, overall, I had 2-1/2 glasses of red wine, and Sunday was a lost day.  I felt like crap all day long, and I kept berating myself for my stupidity( how I'll never drink again, and so on). I had to cook for my family and function normally, when all I wanted to do was lay in bed.  Lesson learned(again)!

interesting post. Ihaven't had more than one glass of wine at a time (though one was a pretty big serving that i drank for several hours). still wonder why three glasses was enough to give a hangover. i have always been a cheap drunk and three would have made me drunk but don't think it would have given me trouble the next morning. go figure. but you have learned something and thanks for sharing it so we don't make the same booboo.
got a glass on wine on airplane once (pilot bought free drinks because he was late) and those airplane bottles are really two servings. so i split it with the guy next to me who turned out to be a resident in internal medicine and an interesting conversation. making friends by dividing wine! D

I think it probably has to do with my weight to alcohol  ratio being so different now?? Yes, lesson learned.  Parties are the problem.  Usually, hubby and I go out to dinner, I'll order a glass with dinner, and he'll fini**** for me.
But you're right,  shared wine makes for good friends!

I think for me the biggest change from pre surgery is drinking in general... i was always one of those people who never drunk enough unless i was visting friends and they were making the tea... So it was one of  thing that i had to really foccuss on early was making sure i spent all day drinking.
That for me has become the norm now.

I never used to really drink with my meals so that was not really an issue, although i dont wait 30 mins from drinking til eating  its usually 5-10 unless i go to a restaurant and then sometimes i drink up to the point of eating but never after, i always wait at least 30 mins after to drink again.

Im only hoping that this thing with more than 4 teaspoons of sugar stays with me ... if i have more than 4 teaspoons of something sweet with sugar in it i start gagging. (but my luck it wont lol)

I never have vomited after surgery either yet .  so i still do not know how that is compared to what it was before..

You know, I don't actually think I can vomit any more. Isn't that strange? I have not vomited once since surgery. And even once when I was sick with food poisoning, and I was nauseated like crazy, it's like my stomach just doesn't know how to do it anymore.

Weird.

were only a few days apart....so I'm not that far out as well.

In the begining I was vommitting like crazy. One day I was able to keep something down the next it wouldn't. Didn't seem like there was any rhyme or reason to it. I even loss water from time to time.

Now everything is great. Can't remember the last time I lost something.

Other than that it's been a great ride so far.

Luckily I've only puked twice - both times earlier out and both times from drinking a margarita right after I ate chicken!! I don't do that anymore. LOL

I would say the only real thing that has shifted for me was my addiction to OH.. early out I would read every post on every forum, and comment on many. I just ate this damn site up! Now I try to make maybe 20 mins a day to skim and post to the topics or people that interest me the most. Part of it is me being busy, but part of it is the burnout from the same ole/ same ole that the site naturally has if you are here long enough...

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!
