a new neurosis
So why am I having trouble parting with all these fat clothes? I had sorted out a bunch of them a few months ago. And since brother recently bought me a lot of new stuff, i need the room in the closet. Have washed things and folded them with the idea of having them nice for the shelter or other charity and a small stack of decent things that a plus size consignment shop might take. But there are a memorable things that there is no way i can ever wear again and just can't seem to let go of. And even the stuff i really want to get rid of i am having trouble getting myself to just haul it out. Its all stacked in the guest room and guest coming for thanksgiving. Anyone else have trouble parting with clothes? I should say they are generally not fancy nor expensive so why is this even an issue? as Homer would say "Doh" D.
stuff.
It's taken my nearly 4 years to be willing to get rid of stuff. I was so sure I would just gain the weight back and need it again. Some of it has hardly been worn when I was really dropping sizes fast, so I didn't want to just give it away. I don't have any real attachment to any of it. I am amazed at how much I still have left even though I've sold a lot. When you go from a 3x to a small, that's a lot of clothes!

I got rid of everything with the exception of 2 dressy shirts that are nice and gauzy and flowy, and will wear them over a cami around the house and such. Mostly as soon as I was out of a size, OUT it went. I had saved clothes and grown back into them before, I was working on doing everything differently than before, because I was not going to end up back where I was.. like before.
MAYBE just put it in the back seat of the car! And one day when you are feeling svelte in your million dollar buttloving jeans - drop them past the women's shelter!! AND THEN ZOOM AWAY FAST AS YOU CAN (but still following the speed limit, you know!!).
I had the same thing with some of the dresses that were my favorites that even at my top weight I really still felt pretty in. I had to wait and find someone that I liked who I KNEW would really like them/need them/appreciate them.
I dunno.. maybe because I felt like they had helped me feel prettier than I felt for a while, I felt the need to be good to them?
Who knows!!
But, definitely a women's shelter and especially if there are work clothes in there! Its so hard for the ladies to get decent work clothes to even go out and find a job in!
You are doing a good job girlie! I *am* proud on you!

I am now a size 2 and have been at this weight for over 1 year. Guess what I got rid of this past weekend? Yep, my size 8 pants. I was just holding on to them because I still can't believe that I have lost this weight and it's going to stay off. I keep thinking I will need those pants back. Why do we do this to ourselves?? Well, it's a process!
