so how often do you consult your surgeon/nutritionist?

I live some distance from my surgeon (lapsf) office but thankfully they come to this area for follow up. they used to come every other month but are now doing monthly. and i do my best to drag my fat friends to their programs as this has been absolutely life changing. so i am a week short of being a year out and so i would see jossart or cirangle when ever they came up since i paid for 5 years of follow up and felt it was important during the weight loss phase. so in september dr. c told me i was done with losing. will have the one year heavy duty blood panel they require though got permission to pu**** to january for insurance reasons. have had some interim bloodwork by pcp with normal results. so got a message from lapsf wanting to know if i want to schedule in late november. since i wont have the blood work then and since unless i gain a bunch of weight in the next couple of weeks, not sure what there is to go over. so that brings me to the question of how often does everyone see surgeon or nut for follow up? i usually call the dietician once every six weeks or so with some dopey question but thats about it.  waddaya think? d

I've been into see Dr.C 4 times in a year.

I am due (late) to have my one year appointment. Having labs done tomorrow and probably see Dr. C next week.

You should do an appointment with Dr. C after you get your labs in hand. Might be some levels to be adjusted.

i kind of miss having my surgeon and nut on hand but  they in san diego, but if i really need my nut i can email her, but not alot she can really tell me unless i start gaining which hopefully will not happen,
i got my labs done at my pcp and got the lab wizzes on the boards to tell me what they thought no probs were showing....

im figuring it out for my self  that im pretty much going to be mostly dense protein meals only, with the odd carb treat and  the odd snack. like grapes or yogurt and berries...

I saw Dr. J several (3-4?) times the first year and a half...now it's just once a year (though did you hear he has left LapSF???--I need to find out where he's gone). I've never consulted the nut...the one they had when I had surgery was awful, but she left soon after and I've never even met the new one...what's his/her name?

Yup..... Dr. Jossart left LapSF.... He had some kind of surgery and was going to be out for a couple of months than it is unknown where he was going. (that's what I heard.) Dr. Cirangle has been seeing Dr. J's post-ops.

The nutritionist name is Amy.... I really like her and she has done good for me ..... but YMMV.

welll the word i heard on dr. jossart is that he injured his shoulder significantly playing basketball (this came from dr. c) and at that time he wasn't sure if he would be back cuz you can't do this surgery with a bad shoulder. so according lapsf he has left and they don't know what he is going to do next. i asked if they were going to get another surgeon since cirangle always seemed spread pretty thin for all the offices they have and stuff,  but they said so far so good. so thats the latest lap sf gossip. so i decided since i am pushing my labs into next year for insurance reasons there is no reason to see dr c privately and i will just go to support group and show off my skinny new jeans. tee hee. got another ridiculous pair with rhinestones on the a$$ . look like an idiot as a 59 year old in jeans made for a 20 year old but who cares. having fun. d

Just to continue the gossip, someone on the DS board posted that Dr. J told them he WOULD be doing bariatric surgery once his shoulder healed, just not at LapSF. So I really wonder about the inner workings on that one!

This year, I just did a call-in chat with Dr. Jossart since my labs looked good and it was't worth an hour drive for a 5 minute conversation...

And I also have some of those ridiculous rhinestone jeans to cover my 56 y.o. booty!

Dr. C told us that Jossart would continue to do some surgery once he recovered but that he didn't want to work the hours that are typical at LapSF and Dr. C didn't want a partner who was only working 4 days a week so they agreed to part ways. (As he put it, they are at different places in their lives.)

I am in Belize, my surgeon is in Cancun... so never...

However, for the first year or so I sent him a copy of my monthly post, whi*****luded weight loss, measurements and pictures...

If I don't write for a bit with an update, he or his co-ordinator Sheri write me a short note and ask my how I am doing...
