Thanks Sara.. I agree. I went for a mile walk with the hubby yesterday , just to get in the fresh air. I'll remember to keep him at home.. LOL. He talks too much!! I know, I'm terrible.
I ate 1/2 cup of oatmeal, I turkey sausage link, and a slice of WW toast. I couldn't get it all down. But I ate it slow slow slow and listened to my body and striped when I felt full.
Do you know if an app to document my food intake? I think if I had a way to log it online, I get better results. Thanks again

Good luck at work today!
I am just over a month out and I STILL have problems getting in all my protein. I am working on it though and still seeing results.
As for working out, etc., I am STILL very tired and go to bed much earlier than I did in the past. I notice that I feel better when I work out, even if I am still tired :)
I can eat about 1/3-1/2 at meals, so if you are getting in 1/2 cup already, that is quite a bit. I have issues STILL with eating too fast :( and my body reminds me (not so nicely) that I need to slow it down.

I'm 2 weeks post op and feeling good. I too am having trouble with the protein and vitamin intake. I did try to stick to a time schedule for the vitamins that seems to be working. The protein ? Well... Hmmmm working on it. I'm sick of the shakes in the blender. So I'm trying to just use the shaker. It doesn't taste so thick.
Before the surgery, I was a workout nut. Up at 4am to hit the gym before work. Now I'm just resting, resting, resting. I plan to get back to the grind but I'm healing and don't want to set myself back.
Food.. Oh food! I'm so scared of it! I know that I have learned to listen to myself, but I'm still a work in progress. I just keep in mind that I can eat about a cup of food. That normally helps.
I go back to work tomorrow but only 5 hrs a day. I'm hope that I can keep up with my protein and vItamins and keep away from the junk that I know that will be there! Wish me luck!

The Chike! brand has a sample pack of all their flavors for just the shipping cost of $6.95. It has 5 flavors. Thanks for tip, I just ordered it.

I'm about 2 weeks post op and feeling well. The scope sites are almost healed, and tomorrow I can start soft foods. I'm looking forward to that!
Not always getting my protein in now, but trying! I cannot eat puréed meat, so prefer the Greek yogurt and pudding with added protein.

I am 1 week & 1 day & am struggling getting in everything. not hungry ever. but crave weird things I didn't even eat before surgery. I'm tired of pudding & cream soup is a turn off now. basically all I eat are protein whey shots & liquidy cream of wheat. My "deep" stitch, where surgeon actually took out removed section of stomach still pulls pretty good & can be very uncomfortable but otherwise I feel good. The last 3 days come about 8-9p at night I cry & not totally sure why. I feel very sad & like everything is some big chore. Maybe it's just horomones, but it sucks. I'm down 7lbs & very pleased with that. I've taken 2 trips out of the house with my boyfriend to stores which has been fun. I have gone as far as .75 miles on tredmill at a 2.5. but that varies each day. Today was only .25 at a 2.0 & I was exhausted. I'm dying for the time to pass & to get a bit more energy & be able to vary my diet some.

Topic: RE: When is/was your surgery??
My name is Lesley, and I was sleeved on March 20th. This Saturday will be a week that I have been drinking protein shakes. I really like Designer Whey Protein powder. It has 18 grams of protein, 4 grams of carbs, and is 100 calories per scoop. I mix it with 8oz of SkimPlus/fat free milk. I drink 2 1/2 shakes a day.
I had my first post op with Dr. on Wednesday. I lost 12 lbs. in 8 days!!! I was happy, and so was my surgeon, he was also very pleased thus far with my recovery, he also said that I can move onto the next phase (pureed) food on Monday!!
I wrote about my surgery experience on my blog if anyone is interested!!
I am so happy to be a part of the OH family, and a member of the loser's bench!!!

Topic: RE: What are you doing to help you along the way ...ENCOURAGEMENT ideas!
I read a book called Fat No More, about a woman's 1st 2 years journey after gastric bypass. It was pretty good. One of the things it mentioned is that we now have to set rewards other than foods, so making a list if 10 rewards for goals met was recommended. It took a bit more effort than I expected to have a whole 10 non-food rewards ****pt having to remind myself that cheesecake isn't a possibility)
I like your gem idea, I think I'll borrow it as well.

Hi marymack_yeoldlady,
Are you sure you want a soup that will make you gassy? I was told to avoid stuff like that for a while.
If you are sure, don't forget papaya enzymes!
I get to start creamy soups tomorrow. protein and water aren't yet going as well as they should, though.
7th day post op, and 2 of my incisions are a bit painful on movement, but I did overdo it too early by going up and down steps to the beach while I was in Mexico on day 4. In general I'm sore and tired. I'm glad I've got another 4 days of vacation before work, though 5 weeks before I can exercise regularly again seems a bit much.
