The Skinny on Unexpected Issues

Gina,
I cannot believe how much my life has changed since my surgery. So much has nothing to do with my weight. I had been using food as a way to deal with all of my childhood issues and without that protection I have had to face so much pain. 2 months after my surgery I moved across the country and am closer to my family. Within 2 months of moving home I had to cut off all contact with them at the suggestion of counselors. It is hard to believe how much I wasn't willing to see before I lost weight. I was diagnosed with PTSD because of how traumatic my childhood was. Without food for a comfort I have been dealing with my problems and facing them. I just feel really alone with not having my family in my life and recently my best friend stopped speaking to me. She has always been the skinnier friend and when I started wearing a smaller size than her, everything changed. I have an upcoming lower body lift surgery and when I told her she said, "you still won't have a bathing suit body'. Apparently, our friendship isn't strong enough for me to be healthy in it. I now realize that when you are obese that some people are your friend because they think they are better than you and that makes them feel better about themselves. I am looking forward to making new friends and having positive relationships. This experience has been so different than what I expected. I notice that this post was a year ago. I hope things are better for you. I just really needed someone to talk to. I don't have a support group in the small town I live in and don't have anyone that really relates.

I have lost 127 lbs.; went from size 22 to size 4. You are probably thinking, "wow" but I say wow for other reasons:
1. Husband jealousy
2. Mental health issues; transfer addiction and body image
3. Attention from men I would have never gotten as a fat girl
4. Wanting to do things I didn't do as a fat girl, including date other men.
5. Family jealousy because they are still heavy.
6. I was offered a job based on looks because my skillset was same as other candidates.
7. Had an affair with the neighbor, whose wife I was very close with.
8. Told my husband I wanted a divorce 6 months ago because of our issues of jealousy and feeling trqpped.
Any of this stuff happen to you? If so, please post your story!
