Thanks so much.  : )
Yes, Dr. A is nice.  I think he prefers the sleeve.  He wanted me to choose that option as well, but my insurance will only cover the band and RNY.   Count down is 6 days...Eeeeek.   I am still nervous, but know that this is the best thing I can do for myself.  Some people just don't understand.  I have lost 50lbs pre-op and I hate it when people are like "why don't you just keep doing what you are doing and not do the surgery?".   Well, if that was the case, I would be at a healthy weight by now.  Most people who aren't overweight or haven't ever struggled with obesity, don't know what it's like.  Good luck to you as well on your weight loss and pending surgery.  I will keep everyone posted.

Topic: HELLLLO!
Hi everyone.  Just wanted to introduce myself.
I am Misty.  Glad that I found this group on here.  : )
I am seeing Dr. Ahuja.  Having RNY and surgery is scheduled for Jan. 31st!  AHHHHHH!  I am so nervous.  I am kinda freaking out a little.  I know it's all normal, but just kind of wanted to share with some people that know what I am going through.
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I see a lot of talk about bougie size and its effectiveness after surgery.  Does anyone know what size Dr. Ahuja uses?

Topic: Insurance Approval?
I'm seeing Dr. Ahuja.  I actually had my endoscopy today.  My psych eval isn't until December 28th, so that's all we will be waiting on to submit to insurance.  I have Medicaid because my husband wasn't offered health insurance through his job (he was a roofer, and actually had an accident at work, fell off a roof in January) and I'm still a student, not working (at least not for money, I have 3 kids.)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for Medicaid to approve?  I go for my pre-op group and final appointment on January 5th.  Classes start back up January 18th and I was really needing to get this done before school starts.  It's going to be hard enough not to be able to drive the kids to school, but I don't know how I'll do it if I have to wait until after the semester starts to have surgery.  I'm getting stressed a bit!
