Topic: RE: Next Meeting
Hi, The next meeting will be Monday, March 21st at 6:30pm. When you enter the hospital take the left hall. The classrooms are on your right just before the cafeteria.
Topic: Next Meeting
When will the next meeting be and exactly where is the meeting held at the hospital. I'm familiar with the main interest and the lab area but that is about it.
Topic: Setting Goals
I'm a big one for setting goals. In January, Krystal from Parkwest Bariatric Group spoke at several of the support groups about having measurable goals. She really spoke to me. So, here are some are my measurable and timely goals both related to WLS and not:
1) I want to lost my remaining 24 pounds before Christmas
2) I want to walk up Clingmans Dome before summer ends
3) I want to go back to work on April 20
4) I want to go to Ireland for the 10th anniversary of my son's death in April 2010.
So, what are your measurable, timely, and attainable goals, both short term and long term?

Denise,
Thanx for the support! I think we all need both positive criticism,a loving hand, and sometimes a swift kick in the butt, but never anything demeaning! Just honesty! I hope you can make it to one or two of our meetings. We will be having some stuff on weekends and some slothing exchanges that will be exciting. We will also be having a protein party pretty soon. I will be posting that in plenty of time so people can plan to get down here for that. I also be posting on the Parkwest yahoo site a list of the education so people can come down if something strikes their fancy for those as well. Again, thanx so much for the support. Do you go to the Fountain City support group?

Topic: You GO, Marilyn!
Hi Marilyn (and the new gang!),
I know you've had some challenges finding a good support group out in your neck of the woods. I am so proud of you for taking the initiative and CREATING one!
I'm sure as it grows, many will benefit from the support and friendships.
I have my moments when I want to conk people upside the head (myself included!) for doing questionable things. But we're all susceptible to moments of weakness and to making poor choices. No one's perfect. I'm all for having a safe haven to admit mistakes and get support instead of getting kicked when you're down.
In dog training, one of the tenets is to ignore bad behavior and reward good behavior. We're not dogs and we don't want to completely ignore or justify bad behavior. However, blowing a bit of glitter and rainbows up your skirt every once in awhile can do wonders for the spirit!
I'm a bit west to make any of the regular meetings, but I'm always here for posting support and if you have any get togethers on a weekend, I might be able to head that way!
Congrats on the new group and I hope it brings you all the support and comfort you need and deserve. And thank you for including me.
HUGS!!!
