Smart Dimensions Vertical Sleeve Community
About
Welcome all Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) patients! This group is dedicated to assisting and helping anyone who has had the gastric sleeve surgery, and may have questions or concerns at any point during their journey. My name is Bara Yousef, and I am a VSG patient myself. I had my surgery December 15th, 2017, and I am the happiest I have ever been. I am a 24 year old male, and am finishing up my bachelors in Biology, and am preparing for medical school. I started this group because I wanted to make sure that all VSG patients had another resource they could turn to for information and support, when they are feeling confused or lonely. The main reason I relate to this is because I went through a lot during my journey and realized how helpful it would have been to have fellow patients, who may have experienced what I did during their time, there to help me through it. I had many questions, symptoms, fears etc. and sometimes I couldn't necessarily call my doctor to ask about every little thing, especially if it was 2:30 AM and I started to wonder about something, or wondered if what I was feeling was normal. I am aiming to keep the discussions in this group in the realm of positive, optimistic, helpful and motivating. This group is for patients to discuss and ask questions, and receive advice, in a judgment free zone. Any other subjects or conflicts that arise regarding politics, sexual orientation, gender discrimination, or anything other than topics that add to the general sphere of knowledge, will not be tolerated. Everyone here is safe, equal and should feel stress free when explaining their situations or asking their questions. Inquire to your hearts' content! As always it is best to check with your doctor if you feel something is serious, as the majority of members will advise you to do, and use our advice as a secondary resource.General Information
