First off, great loss and congratulations! Second, I actually started a dating site for bariatric patients two months ago. I moderate a couple of forums on facebook and my friends and I were discussing dating after wls and my husband owns a web design company so we took on the project! The site is very new and will take some time to get totally off the ground and get a lot of people on it but hey, all dating sites started somewhere. Feel free to check it out and tell your friends! Hi! Wondering if anyone on here is from the Illinois area? I agree with the other posts that a WL singles group would be so helpful! It is very hard to meet new people that understand what I have gone through and that can sympathize... I'm happy to meet even just friends...just looking to talk to those who are going through this!

Hi,

I'm Phyllis and I've lost about 160 lbs after having lap band surgery. I really wish there was a WLS dating site, so people like us could feel comfortable meeting other people who face the same challenges as us. I know some people thing it would be a mistake to date someone with the same problem, my hope is we would encourage and support each other.

I have been divorced for the 2nd time for over 3 years. I don't even know how to get back into the dating scene everything has changed. I tried talking to people online in chat rooms but nothing came of it. I am 55 and had vsg in 2012 and have lost 114 pounds so far.

I need some pointers from friends here. anything would be appreciated.

I am a single mom of a 25 year old son. I am 54 and had wls surgery 4/25/2012 and have lost 94 pounds pre and post op. Living in louisiana everything centers around food and festivals to say the least it is hard to stay on plan sometimes. I am looking for someone to share times with and to talk to. I never knew getting back in the dating scene would be so hard. This is my first attempt at getting back out there.
