Hi Carol,
Appologies for not responding sooner... I'm more in touch with people at the monthly meetings than I am on here :( The meetings are indeed post-surgery focused. I know Dr. Cleary no longer has a support group for Southview/Grandview patients. We've had some of her patients show up at our Shed and Share meetings. Everyone is welcome! Post/pre/no-op. There's a meeting tomorrow night at 7pm oin the lobby of Dr. Anderson's office in Kettering Medical Arts Building, we'd love to have you!!!

Hi, I'm interested in attending the support meetings. Are there specific topics discussed at the meetings? How many people usually attend? I've already had RNY surgery, so I'm looking for a group the focuses on post-surgery concerns.

Hey Tony, miss you and the group. We decided (after all the check-up appmts. were done) to convalesce in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and that is why I have not been to our meetings at KMC. I will be there again in Sept. and you all should have lots of info from the conferences.
Like you, I began to get worried about members. I came to the library and looked up the OH site and got a little information. Wow!
I am doing fine. My husband sprung for a personal trainer down here. I had 12 sessions and it was great. I discovered that I really can move much better than I thought. Lost 10 add'l lbs. so far, making a total of 50! (Not as well as you, but I am thrilled.) It really seems as though I am losing 10# a month, which is what Dr. Anderson said was a good goal. No problems so far. ...and I am thanking her and god for that.

I hope you don't mind that I joined your group. I grew up in OH and miss my family. I'm from Dayton. I now live in TN. I would like to share my shedding but at this point I've gained...LOL I had my RNY in 2004 lost 145lbs but have since gained over 50lbs back. Any way I'm working on trying to loose what I've gained and readjust my thinking and making better choices.

Starting to get worried... People are having surgery and then falling off the face of the earth. Hopefully people are doing well???

I really debated going in for the meeting tonight Tony, and I know you would have come and gotten me but I decided I am still just a little tired . I did drive over to Walmart today and picked up some protein and some sugar-free puddings to add protein powder to. Eating has gone well today. Feeling better, slept better last night than ever.
I know I will go to the meeting next month and if I don't run into you and Steve before then, hope everything goes well for you both.

I don't think you and I have met yet, but all of your ideas sound great. I had surgery last August but do not attend the Shed and Share meetings anymore (for several reasons). However, I would like to join in any outdoor festivities that you may plan or want to plan!

Purchased my tickets for $30.00 and booked my hotel room way back when 50% off was first offered and I didn't even have a surgery date. Now how is that for being optimistic? This sounds like it will be so much fun.
