Topic: Hi Everybody
My name is Danielle and I would love to be able to connect with everyone. I'm a Baltimore native but currently live in York, PA. Make no mistake, most of my free time is spent in Maryland with my family. The houses are simply cheaper in PA. :) I went for my consultation at Barix Clinics on Good Friday, called a Psychiatrist on Saturday who happened to be able to see me that day! I'm praying this is a good sign. I received a copy of her evaluation today (Wednesday) and passed with flying colors. Now it's just that awful wait for the insurance co to approve it. I pray that I have no issues with this part of the process. The clinic takes care of writing the letter to the insurance co so we'll see what happens.
Topic: My apologizes... and Welcome!
I created this group some time ago and got so caught up in the craziness we call life that I totally forgot about it. If it weren't for someone sending me a message and my finding my password I would never have known that you all have been keeping it going.
I'd like to give a special thanks to Ms Kitty who has been holding it down. Thank you thank you thank you. We need to talk. :-)
Also, it is my dream for this group to become active in conversation as well as events such as meet and greets. We all need the support of others who are going through this journey. If you haven't found out already I'm sure you will that we are the only ones *****ally understand what we are experiencing.
I've had three very close friends who took the steps to change their lives before I did. One of which has continued to be successful she says because of the support she has received from others who have experinced the same things.
Please take a moment to read my page I'm in the process of doing the same for each of you. I'd like to get to know you better and lets see if we can have a real support group thats more like friends and family.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcome Jeri... I also live in Columbia. I haven't been online for quite sometime due to personal issues. But I'm back and can't wait to see how thing are going... offer support and receive it as well.
We who either have just begun the journey or have been on it for some time are truly the ones who understand and can lend the kind of support that only we can give. I hope that made sense. LOL!

I am doing well :)
I go to my 4 week check up tomorrow and will know how well then when I step on the scale!
Still haven't broken down and bought one for at home, thinking it keeps me more likely to not obsess if I have to wait to see the doctor... of course once I stop seeing them so often I might have to break down and buy one!
Hope all is well!!!

Thanks for the welcome, Kitty!
My husband and I attended Dr. Singh's seminar on Wednesday night and I was very psyched about the possibilities.
I'm going to get all of my paperwork in and start attending the support groups BUT....and this is a BIG BUT.....
I called the insurance company yesterday morning and found out that plan we have through my husband's employer excludes any sort of obesity surgery. The people at United Health Care said that I could contact the employer's human resources department and find out if ther are any plans to put it into any of the new offerings during open enrollment in the fall.
If not - then we're going to have to pay out of our own pocket. With the economy being the way it is right now - that's not a possibility, so I"m pretty bummed out! My husband has been wonderful about it - he said - go ahead and get everything ready as though you're moving forward with it and then when (if) it becomes available you'll be ready to go right away.
We had the coverage about 1-1/2 years ago when I first thought of this and then chickened out - but it's okay! There's always a reason for the things that happen and the way they happen. Hopefully I can get myself motivated to get back to Weigh****chers and exercise in the meantime!
Sorry to ramble on and on - but I'm on the rollercoaster at the moment as I'm sure you can imagine.
Blessings and thanks!
