Topic: RE: Which is your hospital and Doctor.
I am scheduled for surgery on April 6th with Dr. Oh. I have been trying to loose 30 lbs. before surgery, but it is not coming off. I haven't gained anything, but have only lost 3 lbs. I am afraid that when I see Dr. Oh for my final appointment today that he will reschedule. I heard that he has done that before.
I started my liquid diet on Monday, and so far things are going really well. I have my mom coming to help take care of things while I am recovering and hope that everything goes according to plan. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Topic: FB Clone - Sugar Shock/Dumping - Cravings Why, Why, Why?
This was posted by Donna on our facebook page. Just moving it over here too for those of you who are not on facebook.
=============
Am I having mental issues or what!? Old habits die hard. I keep wanting, craving sugar, ice cream, etc. Yet I know when I eat them I'm going to be sick from them. They don't even taste as good to me as they did a year ago before my RNY surgery! Yet I did it again l...ate yesterday. After swimming a mile I came home, had my protein shake - then went on to have a piece of angel food cake with chocolate mint soy ice cream - yep even the soy ice cream did me in again for the second time. Less than 20 minutes after eating it I was flushed, burning up, felt puky, heart was racing, stomache cramping, and felt like I was going to croak - finally fell asleep for about 2 hours and woke up feeling a little better after expelling a lot of very toxic gas! I know gross subject - but true. My problem is I know this is going to happen, but it doesn't stop me from doing it! This is even the reason I had the RNY surgery because I knew sugar was an "addiction" for me. How do you overcome this problem? Any suggestions? In a way it seems like I'm punishing myself? Does this make any sense at all? Anyone else have this problem? Then to top that off, I've found myself going on more spending spree's to avoid the food binging? That's not healthy either! Then I end up returning items I really didn't need in the first place! Don't get me wrong, I'm still very happy that I had my RNY surgery and being able to fit in a size 10 is amazing and I hope to get even smaller. I love not wearing size 24/26's any more. I'm about 9 months out from having my surgery and have discovered this new me trip is much more of a "head" trip than I ever expected. If anyone else is having this problem - it may be an excellent topic for one of our face to face meetings and also beneficial for those that are looking into having surgery. Does anyone know of a good book that deals with the mental adjustment of weight loss surgery? Or of a good therapist that deals with this issue? Thank you, Donna

Topic: Donna's Medical Alert Bracelets
Guys,
Donna Childress in our group sells Medical ID bracelets and her prices are wonderful. She will be bringing some to our next meeting. If interested be sure to bring some cash.
Here is her description about them:
My bracelets are interchangeable with the ID tags so that you can change out the bracelets to match your outfits. So people just need one Med alert tag, and can purchase as many separate bracelets as they want. I presently have over 100 bracelets to choose from and they vary in length from about 5 inches up to 8 inches. The ID tags snap/hook on to the bracelets with a "Lobster Claw" attachement at each end. The ID tags measure approximately 1 1/2 inches long and are stainless steel metal. I have both blank tags that come with symptom/alert stickers and can be engraved later, or I also have pre-engraved Gastric Bypass tags that also state NO Blind NG Tube on the back. My bracelets are made of Swarovski crystal beads, wooden beads, Czeck Glass Crystal Beads, Silver Beads, etc., and so far no two are identical. I also have plain silver, gold, etc., bracelets. Prices range from $15.00 up to $24.00 each and the tags are separate at $12 for non-engraved with stickers to $14 engraved Gastric Bypasss, No Blind NG Tube. If people are interested they can call me at: (425) 432-0156, or can email me at: [email protected]. They can come see them at my home, or I can bring them to meetings.

Thanks.
Since I run a NW council and also run workshops for a living I find that these structured tools really help.
I took the Boeing project mgmt classes and got my certificate in that. Have you had any of those? They are pretty good.
Also if you like on-hours classes, I would highly suggest you take a class at Boeing called Facilatation 101. It is a great class that teaches a ton about faciltating groups. It is a 2 day class.
