You can do it.  We believe in you.

And I love your nsg.   Have you tried the tracker tool here on OH?    It is pretty awesome, breaks down % of food into carbs, fat, protein and also shows you nutrient info.   I have used many in past and it is one of the best I have ever seen.

Gads, Last Friday I was 147.4 lbs.  Monday I was 149.4 lbs.  Today, Wednesday April 14th I'm 148.4lbs.  Haven not made any progress in the last two months and getting very frustrated.  The closer to goal you get, the harder this is.  My overall goal is:  125 lbs.  By May 31st  I'd love to be at 139 lbs, but just don't know at this point if that is realistic or not.  Especially since I have a weeks vacation to Cape Code during that time period!  But perhaps with your help Karrie, and with the help of others it may be possible.

I believe my non-scale goal should be writing down and calculating every calorie that goes into my mouth!  I think that's the only logical way I'm going to be able to keep track of what goes in and what comes out - ha ha ha

And, tracking my protein count better, and getting back to exercising.

Topic: Interesting Article on Carbs and Heart Disease
Someone in another group I belong to posted this article about the risk of bad carbs and heart disease.

I though it was interested and that I would share it with all of you.

Topic: Memorial Day challenge
Someone started a Memorial Day challenge on one of the forum boards here on OH.

I joined that challenge and it is really keeping me focused.

Being accountable to others and also seeing their success each week is great.

I was thinking perhaps we could do a challenge for our group too.

If you want in, post a reply to this thread with your starting weight, your goal weight on Memorial Day (May 31st) and also post a non-scale goal.

We will weigh in every Friday.

I know some of you are already at or near goal, so you can just set your goal as the same as today's weight and focus on the NSG part.

I will put all of our data into a spreadsheet and keep track of it for us.

Thanks for posting this Karrie:)  Sorry I couldn't make it, had a puking kiddo at home:(  He's ok now:)
Sounds like there were a lot of people there yesterday so sorry I missed it.
I went there last Sun for breakfast....holy moly!  Big ole portions!!!  Good eatin though.
I hope to make the next meeting in Maple Valley:)

I delivered 6 weeks early a 5lb 15oz lil boy:)  After spending 2 months on bed rest in the hospital and Mason spending 11 days in the NICU, we're both home and doing great!  Mason is getting bigger and gaining weight like he should.  Now it's my turn to lose this weight!  It's tough to get back on the band wagon...I CAN do this!

For those of you who didn't attend, Just a few notes from today's get together at the Bear in Federal way.

In attendance:
Karrie (band)
Donna (RNY)
Della's mom (support)
Della (RNY)
Leann (band)
Bonnie (VSG) and her husband (sorry don't remember his name).
Brenda and Jeff (both pre-RNY)

So, we finally had 2 guys which was nice.

We played a small get to know you game called two truths and a lie.   Each person listed three items, two being true and one a lie and then we guessed which were true.

Some interesting things I learned,  Donna was chased by the Mafia (still waiting for whole story).   Leann was born in Yosemite park, Della has two Bachelor's degrees... there were many more, this just gives you a flavor.

I also shared that Vitalady told me she does 6 protein shakes a day and from her experience, the more protein people do the more they loose.   Interesting thing to know and try.

We also discussed if we are afraid of success and why we sabotage ourselves when we approach goal weight.   Some thoughts were to hide from responsibilities, many admitted we used our weight to make ourselves unattractive to the opposite sex.   We started to have some good conversation on this topic.   I would welcome any additional comments and thoughts on that topic in this discussion thread, please post your thoughts.

Also, anyone else who attended, please post anything you learned today or what  you got out of the gathering.
