Hi, I also had Dr. Oh at St. Francis.  I had my RNY surgery on May 21, 2009.  It's wonderful you are starting a group.  We badly need one around the Kent area which is centralized for so many people.

Look forward to meeting you!

Ok, I have to ask, I've heard from more than one person that Dr. Oh is not very friendly. Has that been your experience with him?

I got my band with Dr. Alperovich. The Valley Medical Center closed their bariatric center 3 weeks after my surgery, which was very aggravating. It took Dr. Alperovich some time to get re-established, so I found Dr. Lauter (Overlake Hospital). I love Dr. Lauter, he is great. He did my emergency surgery when my band slipped, and he did my revision to RNY. VMC closed their bariatric center is August, and I did not hear from Dr. Alperovich until January, where I understand he is working with Dr. Oh (I think?). I didn't dislike him as a doctor, it is just that I decided that I had to take care of me, so I went on a search for a new doctor. My band slipped in November. If I had not found Dr. Lauter by then, who would I have called?

I am scheduled for surgery on April 6th with Dr. Oh.  I have been trying to loose 30 lbs. before surgery, but it is not coming off.  I haven't gained anything, but have only lost 3 lbs.  I am afraid that when I see Dr. Oh for my final appointment today that he will reschedule.  I heard that he has done that before.

I started my liquid diet on Monday, and so far things are going really well.  I have my mom coming to help take care of things while I am recovering and hope that everything goes according to plan.  I'll keep my fingers crossed!
