I just seen your post. Sorry to hear your mother is not up for the trip to the beach. You know we have not had a landline for about 7 years. With cell phones today I am sure a lot of people have cancelled there landlines. Tomorrow I plan on cleaning out our garage.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs....Miss you lady!!!!
Michele
We were planning a trip to the beach but I don't think my Mom is up to it, so I canceled our reservations yesterday. Now I guess it'll be a do things at home weekend.
Things like hopefully getting our land line fixed! I got home yesterday to find out it was dead, no dial tone. It was working the night before. Makes me wonder if we really even need it? Now before anyone says "Did you pay the bill?" Yes, I did and I even have a credit. Phone company says they'll fix it before Monday at 6:00PM ... Monday? Wow!
I am such a dumb~O that I didn't realize I had to click of "Discussion" to get to this board at first. I thought that there was just no messages posted yet for a while!
I can be a little slow guys.

Paula Deen's Magical Peanut Butter Cookies
Makes about 12 - 18 cookies depending on your preference
1 cup of peanut butter, smooth or chunky*
1 cup of Splenda (plus a little extra for rolling/pressing)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
(*Paula used smooth peanut butter, but said you could use chunky)
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheet[s] with parchment paper or use Silpat mat if you're lucky enough to have them! (LOL)
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, Splenda, the egg, and vanilla, and stir well with a spoon -- it will be sticky!
3. Roll the dough into balls the size of walnuts (I used my regular size cookie scoop).
4. Drop ball into additional Splenda and roll to cover with sugar.
5. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet.
6. With a fork press a crisscross design on each cookie.
7. Bake for 12 minutes.
8. Cool slightly before removing from pan, place on cookie rack to finish cooling.

I'm Stella-Blue, my real name is Cathy though (don't tell!) I just use a fake name because cyberspace- is a little scary.
I had RNY (laproscopically) surgery on June 3rd 2008
Highest weight ever - 487, starting weight, (the one I use from when I first met the surgeon) was 465
I've lost 190 pounds! I am at 297 now.
I work for myself as a cleaning lady in offices, at night
I've never been married.
I have no kiddos yet.

My favorite pastime -Going to concerts all over the country, I am a Deadhead. I have seen over 200 concerts, there are only 6 states I have not been to/through. I had to stop traveling with my last weight gain of 180lbs (in a year and 1/2) because I could not walk. It sucked. Before that even as a big girl (around 300 lbs for most of my adult life...I am 5 foot 7 and 1/2) I traveled often and went backpacking and camping every summer with my sister. 487 is just too big to function though. I was truly miserable and wanted to die for a while. Thank god for RNY. I had to lose 81 lbs just to qualify for it at Buffalo General Hospital with Dr Forbes. they are tough! They have never lost a patient though so I trusted them.
My least favorite pastime -Putting away laundry (but I don't mind doing it or folding it)
Who's next? We'll see!
Hello Everyone..
I was invited by Jan, who I met on the Over 50 BMI forum. I was also lucky enough to meet her in person at the OH LA event. I live in Toledo, Ohio. A medium sized city with not much going for it right now with the auto industry slowing down.
My WLS story in a nut shell. I had RNY on April 16, 2008 after what seemed like forever. I had originally started the process in early 2007. I spoke with my insurance company at the time, and they assured me that they do approve WLS. I went thru the 6 month supervised dieting, only to be denied from my insurance; who then said they do not cover WLS. I was devistated.. I should have read the policy myself, but whatever. I was determined to have the WLS done. It took me a few months to get back on track, I was really depressed about the whole thing. I ended up getting a second job with better health insurance that covered WLS.
A little about me.... I have been an RN for the last 15 years. I usually love my job, some days are of coarse worse than others. I have been married to a wonderful man (Alex) for 10 years now. We have no children yet, and I am still undecided if I want to try again after I have lost most of my weight. (we had tried for probably 5 years prior to me having WLS). I have a wonderful sister, niece & nephew who I spend lots of time with. I absolutly love to travel, and just with I had more money and time to do it. Our favorite place is Alaska, and we would like to make it back there during the winter at some point.
