Topic: RE: help on how to handle the waiting game
Well, someone out there must have said some prayers for me because I got a call today and have a date. Thanks.
Topic: help on how to handle the waiting game
Hi everyone! I found out that my surgery was approved by my insurance over a week ago. My surgeons office has not scheduled a date and said that is likely that it won't be until late May as my surgeon is involved in some research project. I have to tell you that I am practically jumping out of my skin in anticipation and feel on edge. I just wish I had a date to plan around. I just feel like I have been waiting for this for so long and thought that once it was approved it would be quick. How did you all handle the anxiety and anticipation pre-surgery?
Topic: Upper Endoscopy
Hi All,
I had my upper endoscopy on 3/27. It showed that I have a hiatal hernia. I was told that I can no longer have Lap Band because of this......did anyone else find anything on their endoscopy?
Frustrated,
Dianne

Good luck with your approval. Fortunately, I had Blue Cross and they were pretty easy. It's great that you're working out now. I wish I had before surgery.
The pool there is very nice and it's heated just right. Parking is not great. I usually park in the lot behind Stater Bros. At least you get a little bit of a walk in to warm up and cool down on!

That's amazing, congrats on your successes.
I haven't been approved for surgery yet....Cigna makes you jump through hoops :) However, I have already started on my workouts. I have a trainer that I see two times a week and I try to get in my own workout at least once more a week after that. I have always loved to swim, so, Citrus is sounding really good right about now! :)

It's my pleasure. The fitness center is full of average joes just trying to get/stay fit. It's a nice low key environment with no egos. The same goes for the pool. I'm now hitting the gym and/or pool 6 days a week there and it feels fantastic.

Thank you for the info. This is perfect since I live so close to the College.

Somebody mentioned water aerobics at the meeting last Saturday and I wanted to pass on this information:

Topic: RE: Recipe exchange
I saw a recipe on the main board for a salad similar to this and I changed it up a bit. It turned out really yummy!
Edemame & Black Bean Salad
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 bag frozen soycotash from Trader Joe's (mixture of soy beans, corn, and red peppers)
1 bag shelled frozen edemame
1 bag frozen asparagus spears (cut into 1 inch chunks)
1/2 jar roasted red bell peppers (chopped)
Italian Seasoning to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
Trader Joe's Fat Free Balsamic Vinaigrette , I used about 1/3 cup
Place frozen veggies in bowl and steam in micro for 3 minutes to thaw. Add in remaining ingredients and mix gently.
Cover and store in fridge overnight.
