Somebody mentioned water aerobics at the meeting last Saturday and I wanted to pass on this information:

Citrus College has a fantastic deal going for their fitness club memberships.

A general membership is $56 (expires Jun-30) or $42 if you're over 55. Parking is $30 or free for over 55.  They offer 3-month memberships for less. The fees are set to increase the 2nd half of this year.

This includes access to the Fitness Center which has a cardio circuit for a total body workout. On the circuit, you alternate between weight machines and stationary bikes at set intervals. After you finish the circuit, they have treadmills, stair climbers and recumbent bikes. There is an Aquatic Center for swimming laps and water aerobics. They have regular aerobics classes along with yoga and pilates. Last but not least, they have a weight room.

Lap Swimming is open from 6:30a-1:00p and 5:00p-7:00p on Mon-Fri and from 10:00a-12:00a on Saturday.

The Cardio Circuit is open from 6:30a-10:30a and 3:30p-7:00p on Mon-Thur, 6:30a-9:20a and 4:30p-6:00 pon Fri, and 9:00a-12:00a on Sat.

Aerobics and Body Conditioning classes are held at 6:30a, 5:00p, and 6:00p Mon-Thur, 6:30a, 7:30a, and 5:00p on Fri, and at 9:00a on Sat. These are a mix of classes including yoga, hi/lo impact aerobics, pilates, cardio kickboxing, and some others.

Water Aerobics are held at 12:00p and 5:00p Mon-Thur, 12:00p on Fri, and 10:00a on Sat.

Weight Lifting is 5:30-7:30 Mon-Thur.

To sign up you can go to the Lifelong Learning Center on campus.

Thank you for the info.  This is perfect since I live so close to the College.

It's my pleasure. The fitness center is full of average joes just trying to get/stay fit. It's a nice low key environment with no egos. The same goes for the pool. I'm now hitting the gym and/or pool 6 days a week there and it feels fantastic.

That's amazing, congrats on your successes.
I haven't been approved for surgery yet....Cigna makes you jump through hoops :)  However, I have already started on my workouts.  I have a trainer that I see two times a week and I try to get in my own workout at least once more a week after that.  I have always loved to swim, so, Citrus is sounding really good right about now!  :)

Good luck with your approval. Fortunately, I had Blue Cross and they were pretty easy. It's great that you're working out now. I wish I had before surgery.

The pool there is very nice and it's heated just right. Parking is not great. I usually park in the lot behind Stater Bros. At least you get a little bit of a walk in to warm up and cool down on!
