Topic: RE: 5 YEARS OUT TODAY...
Hi Jimmy,
Congratulations!!!
Mine is coming up on Nov. 2.  It will be my 6th anniversary.
Have you done anything exciting this summer?
I was having sleep problems for the first 3 1/2 months of the year (5-7 hrs. per day and at various weird hours day/night, with many days having 2 very short sleep sessions to add up to 6 or 7 total hrs.)
I finally got sick, started sleeping 12-15 hrs. and am back to 7-9 hrs on average (mostly 2-4 am through noon).  I've been to see a specialist a couple of times now.  We've ajdusted my current medication, which seems to be helping, but I may need to try something additional.  I have to drive to Goodland, KS to see my Doctor via telemedicine (he's in K.C.) and doesn't have a NE license.
Any way, this summer I have been busier than usual.  I've been to two wedding showers, one baby shower, and a family wedding (which was like a family reunion with relatives traveling from North Dakota and Missouri).
I spent some time with my sister and her husband in Kearney a couple of times.  For Mother's Day we went to the wine and Jazz festival with Barry's sister and Dad.  I was sick that day, took one sip of wine, and had to have Pam take me back to her house to sleep all day.  They had a good time (I insisted they all stay and have fun) and went for crab legs that night.  They were sweet enough to bring me back some, and luckily, I was able to eat them.
The other visit was on the way back from our good friend's graduation from Anestesiology school/residency.  I was on my sister's team at the Buffalo County Historical Society Trails and Rails Museum's Trivia Competition.  It was a fund raiser for the museum (where she works).  That was fun, but we had a hard time with the Buffalo County History questions.  I lived there birth thru age 6, and she and her husband moved there after college.
Barry took a week off for Dr. K.'s Graduation, so we could spend some time with them, and we also went to some State Parks and Museums that we always meant to visit, but never had.  We even stopped in North Platte and visited the Golden Spike.  What an awe inspiring view and a very interesting History.
We even visited a Nebraska "Safari" on our Way to Omaha.
The last 2 weeks, I have been helping our friends  move back to town.  I've been helping Annette repaint their new house (interior).  I had to miss my 30th class reunion, but a classmate posted some great photos from 5th grade on facebook.  That generated me being able to reconnect with several old classmates thru facebook.
Ok, you are caught up with me.  Now it's your turn.
I hope to hear from you soon.
God Bless

Now that I have already posted let me introduce myself. My name is Debra, but people call nme Debbie and Deb too, and any or all are fine with me. The reason I was interested in joining this group is that I loved the title. Reflections, says a lot doesn't it. Be it the reflection in the mirror, or reflecting upon a thought or a memory. I look forward to ireading what others think and meeting those who have chosen to travel this weight loss journy as well.
I have not had the surgery yet, but am at the end of the insurance requirements and am looking forward to setting a date soon. At This point I am still on the fence about the type of surgery, At first I was adament on the lap band, but now I am not sure and wil be discussing it all with my surgwon when I see him nest.
take care all

I have always loved storms. As frightening they may be in the midst of it, everything is cleaner and clearer beccause of it.... thats is true for the storms of life as well.
Thankfully I am a silver lining kind of person. I have endured my share of storms, and I think I'd have given up long ago. But instead I kinow that the winds will stop blowing, and the rain will stop falling, that the storm will end eventually, and every thing begins anew again. This is true for all storms, the summer thunder shower, the hurricane and the tornado in nature and in life itself... they all eventually end and while rebuilding we make things better and become stronger, for it.

Yes we had terrible storms here last night and luckly we made it through them. Just like we have storms on our weight loss journey, we will make it through them to, it might get dark and cloudy but the sun will come out. Enjoy the beauty of a new week..
