Let me know how it goes.  I looked at the site and bookmarked it for future reference.  I'm still pretty early out post op, only 11 weeks.  So my nutrition is still pretty limited right now.  I had RNY, so there's some stuff I just can't have, and I'm trying to limit my carbs right now to accelerate my weight loss.  The site didn't say how much the programs were.  Is it expensive?

I ran again today, 2 miles on the streets in the fancy neighborhood near my house.  I shaved 20 seconds off my average pace from Sunday's run (which was on the greenway, lots of sandy gravel).  It hurt, I wanted to quit about 1.5 miles into it, and the whole route felt like it was up hill.  No matter, I did it.

Day 9 of 28 in my C25K training program.

The nice thing about yoga is that you start where you are and then work to get better.  Don't let not being able to cross your legs get in the way.  Do what you can and you will see that each week you will be able to do a little more.  Yoga is about personal growth and improvement - you do not have to be able to do everything - just do what you can. Go sit in on the class and if all you can do is cross your ankles - then do it!

My apartment offers a free yoga class on Monday evenings.  I'd like to try it, but I really don't think I'm ready yet.  I can't sit on the floor cross legged.  I'm practicing, but it's not doable yet, due to the size of my thighs and belly.  I got a cheat sheet of poses, and I've been practicing some on my own.  Definitely Yoga is on my list of goals to achieve.

I do like to run outside but often hit the treadmill - especially if I want to work on speed.  Easy to keep track of how fast I am running when trying to sprint.  Walking it is great...  speaking of meetings - I shocked everyone at my last support meeting by walking around the room the entire meeting.  Walked 3 miles in a 30 ft room :-)

Keep going on your 5K - you can do it!

I love yoga.  I take 2-3 classes a week.  It really helps with building strength and stretching those muscles.  I have been doing yoga a lot longer than I have been running and just decided to keep with my normal routine.  Congrats on your journey!

Never heard of that website, I'm going to have to check it out.

I'm just starting to run, so I'm not anywhere near the stage you are.  I can't really give you an info on your issues, but it's very motivating to see that someone else is really going for it!  We have a guy in my local support group who runs marathons now, and he's gotten some of the other guys into it.  One did the 10K at Disney World this winter.

We're not blessed with your weather here, so I can't run outside yet.  We have about 2 feet of snow on the ground yet, and the roads are snow-covered and icy.  They also don't clear about 1/2 the sidewalks to save money, and the ones they do clear are not really clear--they don't bother for a 1-2 inch dusting like we had this weekend.  So my running is limited to treadmill, or I go to the Mall of America to walk--can't run there very well or you mow down the little old ladies who are walking.  :-)

I'm preparing for my first 5K race on April 9th--I would like to run most of it, but if I have to walk some, I'm okay with that.  I've walked a couple of 5Ks since my surgery, and now a 5K walk is routine as part of my workouts.  I do at least one a week on a cross-training day.

That's really impressive that you can already run 2 miles without walking!  I started the Couch to 5K, just beginning my third week of training.  My plan has me doing intervals, walking alternating with jogging, and the jogging proportion increases gradually.  So far, so good.

On alternate days I cross-train by walking--did a 5K walk on Saturday morning--or I go to a deep-water aerobics class through the local community ed.  I also have a Wii Fit which is nice for lighter workouts and yoga.  I want to get the Just Dance game for Wii Fit which is supposed to be pretty good.  I'm always looking for variety, especially now when the weather here in Minnesota is still too icky to work out outside.  I don't want to slip and fall on icy roads and get an injury that keeps me from running.

Hi, I just recently started a c25K training program and signed up for my first 5K race on April 8.  The training program is 8 weeks long with workouts every other day.  Yesterday I ran 2 miles without walking.  I'm so proud.  Of course my pace is pretty slow, 13:40 mph.

I'm just wondering what I should do on alternate days?   I don't have access to a swimming pool until the weather gets nice and I can swim outdoors.

I am signing up for the Elite Program through BariAthletes.com to help make sure my nutrition and hydration is in line with my training program.  Will share any key items that I learn.

Keep up the movement!  and Welcome new members!!!!!
