Topic: RE: What are you eating now?
I had surgery 7/21, and I'm on sugar free liquids only for two weeks.  I was told to sip on protein shakes if I start feeling week, fatigued, dizzy, but I haven't felt that yet so I've been living on water, crystal light, popsicles, sf jello and chicken broth.  I feel just fine!  Actualy, the thought of eating anything is difficult!  I am absolutely NOT hungry.  It's so interesting to me how every doc has a different plan.  I see some people are actually eating something while they're still in the hospital!

 Congratulations!

I had my two week check-up yesterday and was down 26 pounds from their highest weight. According to my scale I am down 30 pounds from my highest...either way I am happy! My doctor recommended I stay on fluids awhile longer since I am still getting nauseous. She said I could start pureed if I get hungry (never hungry) or feel like I need something more substantial. So, I've had a little bit of avocado--yum-and some black beans. Been trying chicken tortilla soup (just the broth) from several mexican places. LOVE the flavor!

Welcome to our group! You and I share a surgery date...it's great to hear how someone else is doing...I'm sorry you are still having belly pain, that sucks! I don't have any pain but also feel slightly nauseous whenever I eat/ drink anything. I had my two week post-op appt yesterday and she said I am doing very well but still need to take it easy and rest as much as possible since I am still recovering (I needed that reminder---I've been trying to do too much and feeling guilty when I can't!

I am having muscle (spasms) pain in my belly.
I started pureed foods today.

My taste buds have changed also. Protein powders are not working for me right now. I don't like the SF carnation instant breakfast anymore but can handle it.

To make drastic changes you have to do something drastic - that was my mind set going into this.  Hope this helps and good luck!!!

Wow - talk about different doctors have different ways !!!!  My first two weeks are only clear liquids and protein powders mixed in.  The third week is supposed to some creamed soups and creamy cooked cereals. An egg sure sounds good - LOL!
