Hello everyone,

I am completely new to the site but had surgery 7/15/10.....I am still having belly pain but hey its major surgery right?  My doctors already have me trying 2 new foods per day so I am a very happy person.  I couldnt believe how good an egg tasted this morning for breakfast, I am going to try tuna for dinner and see how that goes.

Its amazing how I liked Carnation instant breakfast before surgery but now it makes me sick thinking of having to drink so much of it.

You are so lucky to be able to eat eggs and tuna. I was just moved to the pureed stage and am only allowed egg salad...no scrambled or fried etc. it will be another 2 weeks before I can try tuna, salmon, chicken salad. What foods have you introduced so far? How did your pouch handle them?

I no longer have pain, but eating and drinking always make me feel icky, not nauseous, just...icky.

Different Doctors I guess have different ways of doing things.  I dont have to puree anything I went from 1st week of protein drinks, 2nd week I try soft foods such as scrambled egg, cottage cheese, tuna salad, part skim mozzarella cheese.  Next week I get to attempt chili and baked chicken, and lunch meat.

I have been able to handle the egg and cottage cheese I have to introduce something each day to see what I can handle so tomorrow I think tuna salad is next.

I dont have any icky feeling when I eat just pain in my stomach and back.

Wow - talk about different doctors have different ways !!!!  My first two weeks are only clear liquids and protein powders mixed in.  The third week is supposed to some creamed soups and creamy cooked cereals. An egg sure sounds good - LOL!

I am having muscle (spasms) pain in my belly.
I started pureed foods today.

My taste buds have changed also. Protein powders are not working for me right now. I don't like the SF carnation instant breakfast anymore but can handle it.

Welcome to our group! You and I share a surgery date...it's great to hear how someone else is doing...I'm sorry you are still having belly pain, that sucks! I don't have any pain but also feel slightly nauseous whenever I eat/ drink anything. I had my two week post-op appt yesterday and she said I am doing very well but still need to take it easy and rest as much as possible since I am still recovering (I needed that reminder---I've been trying to do too much and feeling guilty when I can't!

Hi,

I had surgery on 7/19/10.  I am still having some pain but not horrible.  I think it would feel better if I hadn't already started working part time.  I am still on a liquid diet and I really don't like the protein shakes anymore.  They are too sweet.  I need to get through 6 more days of them.  Yuck.
