Just curious as to what stage everyone is at and what you are eating on a daily basis?

I am 5 days post op. My doctor still officially has me on a full liquid diet. (sf pudding, sf jello, chicken broth, sf popsicles, etc)

I am already very bored with these foods. They taste so sweet! Ugh... would kill for some pureed egg beaters.

I dont start pureed until day 14 post op.

RNY 7/15/10 I am still at full liquid stage. I can have SF popsicles, jello,& pudding. I can have broth and low fat cream soups strained. I can also have cream of wheat or cream of rice (doesn't seem liquid). I can also have low fat/cal  smooth yogurt. Protein drinks and water water water. I am allowed some apple or cranberry juice but have not braved the juice. I have had some days where a slice of cheese (or something)sounds so delicious! Thankful that I didn't give in! In about a week or so I move on to pureed foods.

This is reassuring. I've been so confused about what "liquid" means! I think I am too literal! I'm 5 days post-op and have been having SF popsicles, SF pudding, cream of rice (mixing in protein powder), crystal light, creamed soups (didn't know to use lo-fat--will do that next--add in protein here too and puree), some broth, no sugar added applesauce, and tried a protein shake (skim milk and protein powder). I guess that's it. Yesterday I had some chicken soup pureed (no noodles or anything).

Hi ladies!! I am two weeks and a day post op, and I still have a full week of full liquids to do. I have the broths, protien, jellos and juices, but i gave in on Friday and couldn't handle the liquids so I had some cream of wheat which isn't on my list of foods for a liquid diet I also tried cottage cheese, both have done well in my pouch, but since I am not offically on the pureed diet, I only allow my self one of those once a day, oh and mashed up pinto beans, once a day only. I think those once a day treats are saving my sanity LOL

I know that is right! My doctors have me on a 3week liquid diet and I had to add a little variety to it. When you have been eating for so long I must admit it has been tough. I had to add the cream soups and some yoguart. I was starting to not eat (or shall I say drink) at all.  That was not going to help me.  Has anyone really started exercising yet.   You all have lost so much weight and I have only lost 18lbs. My sugery was on the 14th of July.  What am I doing differently?

Hey there!
I too am at the liquid stage, but don't quite understand why cream of wheat, cottage cheese and runny oatmeal is also ok (?). I go for my first 2-week appointment on Monday and am hoping to move on to pureed foods and get the okay to start driving...talk about cabin fever! I am supposed to be having 5 protein shakes a day and am really struggling with this. Any suggestions on a good, unflavored protein powder would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to sharing in this journey with all of you

Totally forgot about the sf carnation instant breakfast! I am supposed to have that with skim milk.

I had my surgery yesterday so I'm on clear liquids until Monday.

I had surgery 7/21, and I'm on sugar free liquids only for two weeks.  I was told to sip on protein shakes if I start feeling week, fatigued, dizzy, but I haven't felt that yet so I've been living on water, crystal light, popsicles, sf jello and chicken broth.  I feel just fine!  Actualy, the thought of eating anything is difficult!  I am absolutely NOT hungry.  It's so interesting to me how every doc has a different plan.  I see some people are actually eating something while they're still in the hospital!
