It's okay for the late reply, we all get busy! I have not had my surgery yet. I have done the required classes, passed through psych eval, and had my physical. Tomorrow I have my "last" appointment with the dietician (if she passes me through). I am scheduled to meet the surgeon on the 28th and we will get my surgery date at that time. As for the weight loss, I know how it goes. I have been fighting to get surgery for over 2 years. I did not lose enough weight my first time through, it was seriously tough. I have managed to lose 50 lbs since May this time around so weight loss will not be an issue. I am excited and having difficulty sleeping because of it. I have been struggling not to put back on the weight that I have lost. It seems anytime I eat anything remotely bad, ( one cheeseburger from Mcdonalds for instance) I gain like 4 lbs!!!! Craziness!!!!! Just keep your head up and you will reach your goal :D
Hi there sorry for the late reply, but Christmas and New year went great. First time on our own this holiday usually every year we're either with my family or my husband's. Kids were fine with it. ???s: Have you had your surgery? I yes, how long did it take you from start to surgery date? My journey so far has been Health Ed class 10/27/12, then Surgeon Orient. 11/11/12, appt. with surgeon 12/19/12, and per doctor's orders I have to lose 26lbs. before getting my psych eval. Its been 4wks since I saw my dr and I only lost 3lbs. Not giving up though.
It all depends on your insurance companies requirements. Some are required to take 6 months of classes and a food log, others it only takes a couple of visits. When you go in for your consultation they will tell you what is expected of you. Sorry, I'm not much more of a help.
Hello,
I was just approved by my insurance company and my next step is to have a consultation (8hrs long) next Tuesday. Can anyone tell me what the steps are and what to expect. (how long is this process before I actually have the surgery)
Just had my psych eval yesterday. Won't get results until mid week next week. Pretty excited to get another requirement finished. I had to take two written tests and answer questions for an hour. Anybody else here get through psych yet or is it even a requirement for your program?
I just wanted to start a discussion to see how you are all doing, where you are in the process, and if you have any questions or comments you would like to share.
