Well...errr...and ugh.

I'm contracted to wear saucony @ my tri races. I'm also sponsored by skirt.

Does this mean I'm kicked off the team. What if I wear the jersey w/ a skirt on a non-tri race?

> i know a few folks were runnin a few late so we can just rap for a bit if thats cool
> andrew whats your screen name?

I finally made it!
> I put it on the back burner

I had to stop the 100 pushup when i joined the Y and started working out like mad............overkill.
I saved the web page
i saved it too
> i am up to 40

I guess.  Trying to cross-train so I can do the half on may 15 in cleveland.
LOL.
> he'll let a big one out for us at mile 22 when his body wants to shut down
knees are so finicky.............UGH........so what's the equivalent of 22 in the half?
> uhhh
> 10
great.
> ish
I'm nowhere near that yet.  Stupid knees.
> could be 2ish depending on the day
> 3 more minutes then we will start
> "Send in the clowns"!!
I'm gonna have to walk part of it at this rate.  maybe 3 miles of it.  Not happy camper about that.
crazy Dan.
> wait, we're all here
it's not bad to walk part of it Kernie, in fact I plan my walks and run 12 minutes, walk 1 the whole race
> run when you can, walk when you must, crawl when there's no option
really rebecca, even a marathon, or just the half or all races?
or basically, walk through the water stations, makes it easier to drink and comes at a regular interval
yuck dan crawling reminds me of your crazy 100 mile recount.
i've done 1/2s and 10ks and i've used that for both
> kernie, TONS of people do walk / run
been really successful for me
> Bill how r u feeling?
rebecca i have learned to walk in the water stops otherwise with my asthma i just make it so bad on myself.  cannot drink and run.  lungs get jacked.
i'm afraid if I start walking I might not be able to crank it to a run again
> i hear ya on that andrew
as the miles creep up i do have to count myself down into starting the run again
ok good makes me feel better.  i was really feeling like a loser..........i work with some hardcore runners who do NOT walk
> hardcore runners?
nervous... everytime i think of 26 miles i get a jolt of adrenaline, so i've been trying not to think about it
andrew that's sort of where i come from..........but i always manage to run again.  i have used walking before.
> they make fun of u tell em to call me
> lol
my thing is a want to be able to floor it across the finish line so i use the walking earlier to allow me to do that
yes Dan.  Stupid egotistical dudes who have never been out of shape.l
> HEAR YE .... HEAR YE/...
lol dan .

you can actually breathe in houston in nov
That sounds like fun. I might be interested depending on flight/finanes
no trips for me right now
that is a long way..........since i have a conference in my backyard as it were aug 21
sounds like fun, but i would need to check my schedule and finances
it would be a money thing for me...depends
i'll have to work it into my other trips this year, but could be doable
short flight from here in AZ though
BUT i would love to come rep the athletes nonetheless if it were financially viable.
i'd have to check, would be fun
> ok cool....

one question

I have reservations............very male.............and emphasis on the big person vs the people we are now?
> the person wearing the shirt is who we are now... dont need to put it on a shirt
> the person on the top running is a chic
I get they why, just think he's too big & out of proprtion is all

sorry.... killed my session and had to rejoin
> np bill
are you kidding, looks like i did before!
Akk of us were out of proportion. i ran in a shirt with my before picture and got a lot of encouragement from people who were amazed at the transformation,
but i think the before person is bigger than it should be....

Topic: smothie recipes
If anyone is looking for some different protein smoothie recipes, I have a list that came from the mens board.  It's about 29 pages long with 3-5 recipes per page.
Send me a private message with your email and I'll send you a copy.
I have it in both excel and pdf formats.

These will vary of course depending on the protien powder you use, but they can be a good option or give you some ideas for creating your own.  You can also use water, soy, almond, coconut or whatever your liquid of choice is instead of milk in any of these.  Some actually call for defizzed diet beverages.  The sugar free rootbeer float one tastes great.  Here are a few examples.

Apple Pie Frosty
1 1/2 scoops HDT 5+1 vanilla protein powder
1 apple, peeled, cored, and sliced
(or 1/2 C no-sugar-added applesauce)
2 packets Splenda
1/2 t cinnamon
1/4 t nutmeg
3/4 C water
8-10 ice cubes Blend thoroughly and drink up

Banana Cereal Quickfast
· Great for a super fast morning meal
· 1 to 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder
· 6 to 8 ounces of water
· 4 to 6 ice cubes
· 1 banana
· 1 serving of your favorite cereal mix
· Mix in a blender on medium for 1 minute. Pour into a tall glass. Enjoy!

Banana Mocca
8 oz milk (carb countdown, 2%, or whatever you use)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 banana
1 tbsp. instant coffee
Ice
Blend

Banana/Peanut Butter Shake
8 ounces fat-free milk
1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
1/4 - 1/2 banana
Blend until smooth in blender

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!

Way to go Shane!!

I do G2 and Gu gels.  Shot blocks are pretty rough on me, but everyone is different.  I take a drink every couple of miles and do a gel every 4th mile.  Worked pretty well for me at the Austin marathon.
