This is a fantastic opportunity!

Unfortunately, it's very close to my first Ironman and our finances are in bad shape right now. But that could change...

Hey Guys,

As discussed in last week's chat, I have been asked to speak at the Obesity Help Houston Convention on November 5th & 6th. I would really like to have a great showing or representation from our group. We will be getting a coupon code for the convention and I can help arrange group hotel discounts. It would be cool to have it be a 4 day weekend or whatever is manageable, and we could mix in some training, or maybe find a local race we all could do as a group, there are a couple 5k's and a 10k in the area that weekend. Please let me know if this sounds of interest to you. I think it would be really cool to hang out and get to know everyone. For those of you who were interested in possibly doing the Rocky Raccoon 100 mile or 50 mile trail run next year, it is only 45 minutes from where the convention is, and we could maybe go run a loop early one day. Also, maybe I could find a school, or some other venues we could speak at and share our stories. Let me know if you are interested...

Couldn't you wear your compression tank under a jersey>?

Dan and all,

I love the idea of wearing a logo, but I ONLY wear compression tanks when I run, NEVER a shirt.  It just doesn't work for me and my chafing issues.  I like the pink color, though.  I guess I could wear it before and after races, just can't handle it during.

Dan and I are building the site now and should have the conceipts ready in a few days. I think what we will do is post them on this forum in very very low resolution files.

IT's right now about 1/2 way done though.

Scott,

I am mixed here. When Dan put together his race goals and listed them out last year, I thought he was bananas. But, he completed everything on the list. I think it is good to list them out but for me, I break them down into monthly goals.

If anything be sure that your goals that you have matchup with your training and recovery. So if your goal is to do a 70.3 and a marathon, just make sure you space them out. I say make a wishlist of everything you want to do and then work your plan around that.

For me, the 3 miles per day or 1,000 miles in a year is a nice goal. I am not sure how that matches up with you 70.3 training and tapering. That is the only one for me that doesn't seem to make sense. But again, Dan's races last year didn't make sense and it totally changed his life.

So I would just throw that out there and make sure that your race schedule and goals match up with what you can realistically train for and recover for. So is it realistic for you to run a marathon and then 3 miles the next day or run your 70.3 and feel shattered and then run 3 miles the next day? I don't know. Something to think about.

I love the list and I think you could add more to it.

Last Nights run was a breakthrough. Running my 10 - 20k's at about 4.5-4.8 mph at a comfortale pace. I've been really working on strength / hill repeats and sprinting intervals. Yesterday 10K I was able to run the base at 5.3 and my sprinting intervals at 8 for 2.5 -3 minutes repeating 8 times. It was great.

Lost another 6 lbs this week and itching to get the new beast in a few weeks: http://www.orbea.com/en/bicis/modelos/ordu_tdr/presentacion/

All,

Sorry I missed the meeting, had to get in my only run for the week since 4 days of the flu and 30K on Saturday. So to reiterate for me. I'm registered for Lousiville IM this year, Running marathon on the 27th and will run a 50 miler before the end of the year. Of course will pull several centuries and just swam 2000 meters tonight. So I should be good for team qualifications.

I'm cool with clothing / costs.

Dan, let's get together as I will be traveling next week. We need to get some design decided on the website. Once we get that down, it should only take me a few days to get it ready for a programmer to turn that baby on.

Thanks all.
