funny thing is, krispy kreme sponsored one of our "fun" 5k's for my tri-club last year :)  you got a minute off for every donut you eat while running.... suffice it to say, i skipped that race :)

Scott,

Dan initially wanted the group requirements to be a 50 mile ultra run, a swim through the Straight of Gebralter or a cycling trip across the United States. We figured we would dumb it down a little to a reasonable goal.

I second Dan's comments and if your goals for this year are a bit different than those stated by the group is cool. Not that we can stray from the decision the group made, but the fact that you have these distances under your belt from last year are totally fine with me. It's all good.

The only thing I would say is that instead of signing online, please send your check to my attention, I'll send a private message with my address. Fee's for non-distance racing in the calendar year are $1,500.00 or can be substituted by a pair of Zipp 808's. So whatever works best for you but welcome aboard! LOL, glad to have you buddy.

I didn't get this out on the 1st of this month so I figured better late then never. Krispy Creme has interest in sponsoring our group. They figured that since so many of us have supported their business over the years, that the Post OP PR group was a way for them to give back.

We also have offers from Jack Link's Beef Jerky, Hostess and Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. These are exciting sponsor opportunities and if you believe one bit of this, I have some land in Florida that I would like to sell you.

Hey Scott,

It was determined on a couple of our chat discussions that this was the criteria for being on the team. Bro, anyone who has done as many halfs, Goofy Challenges, marathons as you have doesn't need to think twice about the qualification to be on the team... You are racing throughout the year and are an inspiration to everyone here, the team would not be complete without you my friend...

Did I miss something with the 13.1 mile run, 2.4 swim or 100 bike?  I really had no intention of doing any of these this year.  Does that mean that I can't pay the dues to be on the team and buy a shirt?

What's wrong with a commitment to a healthy, active post-operative life style.  In 4 years, I have completed 4 marathons, 14 halfs including 2 goofys and completed over 60 races but have set a different goal for this year.  I kind of feel like I paid my dues as far as the qualification to be on the team.

That is awesome.

I've kind of lost some steam.   I still try them, but I wasn't making any progress.
I think I have too many "goals or challenges" going on right now.

i'm still doing it, but not really following the plan per se.  i lost some momentum during my training for the marathon and am anticipating losing momentum again in May as my 1/2 IM nears.  but should be good to go in april.

yesterday i did sets of 45, 45, 40, and 40 (the last 15 or so had to be completed very slowly with pauses built in).  the last exhaustion test i did ended up @ 75.
