I know people are going to have to travel, that's why I was pushing it out into next year.
It gives people time to save up for it and get their head wrapped around doing it.
Most of these events will be there no matter what year we pick to do them.

well, someone is going to have to travel, and dallas is a pretty easy (and usually cheap)  flight for everyone short of alaskans.

Another really cheap travel spot is Vegas, not sure of interesting events there.

For me, timing and cost, but we should certainly add it to the list.  It might be the event that works for everyone.

I just figured with picking an event next year that would give everyone time to save their pennies, cut out their morning starbucks and be able to make it to the event.

But yeah, let's add it to the list.

July 2011 - Musselman/MiniMusselman Geneva, NY (wine country) 70.3 & sprint
September 2011 - Rev3 Cedar Point, Sadusky, Ohio 70.3 and 140.6 (family activities available)

O.K. so we have batted this around a few times, but never settled on anything.
I know that as long as we just keep talking about it and not actually picking something we won't ever get something nailed down.
We talked about Muddy Buddy, but that is us scattered all over the country.  I'm talking about 1 event with a big chunk of us in attendance.

It's o.k. if we don't get everyone included, because not everyone will be able to make every event because of life, prior committments, finances, travel or whatever.  It could easily be me that doesn't make the team event, and that would be disappointing for me, but still be great for the team.

Team event for 2011  Let's get some serious suggestions, take a vote and whatever the majority want to do, lets plan it.   Many of the big events require early committment and registration.  Events in 2011 may in many cases require registration this year.

So please post your suggestions between now and the end of the month.

I'd like this to be a topic of discussion for our next chat session as well.  Let's get as many people involved as possible.

Scott this is a fantastic idea!  Another member posted his question about carbs and training this week.  That was and continues to be the biggest challenge for me - finding that right balance of nutrients to feed my body and not gain.  I'd love to see a daily thread with menus posted or perhaps pasted in from the OH Tracker, Fitday or Training Peaks.  Seeing what others eat might help someone get out of a food rut or find that magic combination they need for energy to complete an endurance workout.  You start it and I'll make every effort to hop on.

Here is some about me -

Heaviest weight - 267
Lightest weight - 129
Current Weight - 135-140
How long ago you had Sugery - 11/19/07
What type of surgery - RNY (no plastics)

I work full time for an airline, I'm an ACE personal trainer, and I'm a full time student working on my BSN. I've been married 22 years and we have three kids (21, 19 and 15) and 2 dogs (a big red heeler and a teeny yorki-chau mix).

My protein of choice is Optimum Nutrition Pro Complex and EAS Body For Life Advantage Edge Lite. I also use CytoSport Fast Twitch and Amino Vital.

Can't wait to hear from some of you.

Rewards!  Hot new outfit, manicure, new DVD, iTunes, cute new run top, a copy of Runners World magazine or an indulgent Cosmo, a bubble bath, or go big and if you work out 25 days this month treat yourself to a massage.

Bought an iTunes card, gave my daughter a list and now I have 51 new songs. Ran through 26 of them yesterday and according to my Polar burned just over 800 calories.  Forgot the Garmin so have no idea on the mileage.  Thought I'd share this new/unique way of measuring a workout - by songs.

If you're making blender shakes and not just using RTDs then whirl some fruit in the mix.  Berries and a little frozen banana are great.  I've also used mango.  Buy them frozen in bags and they last longer, or fresh and freeze your own to save money.  If you still bonk out, a T of peanut butter tastes great in a vanilla or chocolate shake.  Depending on your caloric intake, use with milk or water. Milk has the extra carbs and protein, but adds another 100 calories or so.
