Dan, your song was so inspiring and you can really feel the mood and emotions of what the writer is trying to get across. Leaves a lot to the imagination and if Helen Keller was listening to this song, she wouldn't miss a thing! Literally.

Bought an iTunes card, gave my daughter a list and now I have 51 new songs. Ran through 26 of them yesterday and according to my Polar burned just over 800 calories.  Forgot the Garmin so have no idea on the mileage.  Thought I'd share this new/unique way of measuring a workout - by songs.

Along the lines of songs, I load my IPOD songs (playlists) by beats per minute (BPM) then use that to set my cadence--170-180 bpm comes natural for me after 20 years of wearing the title MARINE.  If I am doing intervals, I'll set up a string of 170-180 bpm seperated by 30 second, 140-150 bpm pieces.  I have both cadence and music on mine.

Me, too!  In fact I trained two clients for a half marathon last year and I insisted they let me program their song list.  They both finished ahead of their goal time. It may all be in our head, but hey...whatever works!

I joined a new gym. This is huge for me. I was a member at the other for 11 years.  Anyway, new place does not have a time limit on cardio.  I can run/bike as long as I want to.  Also...and this is the biggie...they have a pool and a rock wall.  They also have a masters swim coach.  So after I pay off the sign up fee, I'm saving for lessons with the master coach. I am determined to learn to be a better swimmer. And I'm taking rock climbing lesson. I'd love to do an adventure race and there is on in NM every year where a small wall is involved....climing and whatever thats called coming down...belay? So...anyway...I'm outta my comfort zone.
