my post-op journey is taking me to the plastic surgery junction. Most of my weight was in the stomach area and I am sure no amount of exercise will take care of that. Doing some research now, and need to plan on how I will find the money to pay.

Would be nice to hear from someone who has had this procedure done already.

I had major major reconstructive surgery in March of 07 which was removal of the panni, abdominal wall was rebuilt, hernia repair and mastopexy on the chest (fancy word for man boob removal).  All in all, a 13 hour surgery (which is a credit to all my cardio work that I did prior so I could last for that long.)

First 3-4 days were pretty bad, won't lie, but at least I could walk after the 2nd day.  Recovery time for me was about a month of little to no activity, then i eased back into things and was back to normal after 2 months, though the abs were sore for about 3-4 months, he sowed them up TIGHT.

I wasn't a serious runner in 07, so i dunno about how much time to get back to real running, but i was doing 3-4 miles after 2 months.  PS is a major surgery and you will need a ton of time to recovery, so be prepared for it

Thanks Brian. I am still in the early stages of planning, but good to get the information gathered before seeing surgeon.

I will be having surgery in Nov this year as well. Going to get my skin tits lopped off, TT and abdominoplast, and Extended TT. Not excited about the down time, but very anxious for the result...

I had a TT and hernia repair the end of October. The pain was better than when I had my RNY open.I had drains in for nearly six weeks! Once the drains were out I started back to running slowly. I am not quite back to where i was, but getting closer. I was running 3 miles twice a week and 5 miles on the weekends and doing zumba two to three times a week. My ferritan was low to begin with and is lower now, not sure if that is contributing to the lengthy process of getting back to where I was. I am scheduled for iron infusions starting next week. I think if I had the drains out sooner i would of got back into it sooner. It was just  too painful to run with the drains in but I did walk at least three miles several times a week

I'm thinking about getting PS in Dec. after my Ironman.

But I have no idea how I'll pay for it!

So I suspect I'll have to wait longer than that.
