How come, it looked like a well attended well catered event for the riders.

The food was mediocre, actually, especially the catered meals. Breakfast the second morning was horrible.

But the main thing is that they didn't really make any effort to connect us to the cause. No one with MS spoke at any of the "parties", for example. So it's not a very moving experience even though it's all organized around a cause.

This is my intended schedule.  I travel a lot for my work so my schedule gets adjusted accordingly.  In 2007-2008 I ran full marathons.  This year I am focusing on 1/2's as I discover what my post op issues might be.  I am still looking to add an ultra in the SE United States this year if anyone knows of a good 50K somwhere in the May-August time frame.

Feb 21st---Breast Cancer 1/2 marathon, Jacksonville, FL
Apr 10th---Eisenhower 1/2 marathon, Abilene, KS
Apr 24th---Nashville 1/2 marathon, Nashville, TN
Sep 11th--- Frantic Frog Sprint Triathlon, Scottsboro, AL
Oct 31st---Marine Corps Marathon, Washington DC
Dec 11th---Rocket City Marathon, Huntsville, Al

Rod

choked on Goofy Challenge. They pulled me on mile 21. I stupidly didn't tape all my toes because, well, usually I don't have to. But then USUALLY I'm not running a half in cold rain the day before a full. Lesson learned. Always good to learn.

oh and if you want a picture of my toes I suppose I could send it but it's not going up on OH, facebook, etc. because, well, it's a little on the R rated gruesome. Exploding blisters and shattered nails will do that. Weirdest thing too though I was ready for this.

Eh I learned a lot, especially about cold-er running. I usually don't like to run halves and fulls in below freezing but WHO KNEW freaking Orlando would have below freezing temperatures. It was hilarious going to a restaurant for dinner the night before and listening to people ask for them to turn the heat up only to find THEY DON'T HAVE HEAT!! LMAO

I learned a lot though. A lot from the folks I run with. A lot about my @#$% shoes. Etc. And in that it was good. It's what you make of your failures that makes you a success.
