Just registered on line,  August 28, 2010 Wichita Falls Hotter-n-Hell.  Spagetti dinner is the night before at the MPEC center. Will be going to that also.  MEDLEY411 is paid and committed. Put me on the calendar.  Just got a pick up my bib.   Cost for the basic race is 30 and the dinner is 8.  Hope to see some of you there.

I am going to do my first 5k in April. Not sure if I'll be able to run it or not. I'm having hip issues. It's family friendly and really relaxed, so I figure it's the perfect way to start into the event/racing thing. :)

I am doing the Mayor's Round-Up 5K Walk/Run/Wheel here in Abilene

Jan 9/10 I'm "running" the Goofy Challenge in Orlando. It's in quotes because I'm coming off a pretty serious left calf pull from way back in October/November. Have to get my stretching post event down better as well as actually allowing for some recovery. But then things like Goofy aren't really about speed for me anyway.

2010 is looking different than 2009 in that the financing I've had for events is changing to where I'll be attending a fraction of what I did in 2009. But the irony is over the last two years I've done so many, twice or more even, that I know which ones I like the most, can bicycle to them, and really even know the others so well I can run/bike/etc. them myself anytime I want anyway. And most importantly, I really want to volunteer for some events, I've only shamefully done that twice and talk a lot of crap about some events without really giving back.

I've also decided this year I'm going to try to give the word "unsupported" less of a negative connotation at least for myself and my family/friends. I love unsupported distance rides and am hanging out with more and more people who are into those sorts of things. Of course there's a few that thinks I'm insane too, but that's been going on for a few years too right?

Have a happy new year!

I will be running the Marine Corps Marathon in October.  It will be my 3rd, but I missed last year because I was weighing 270.  This year I hope to do it at under 200 pounds.  Good luck to you on your runs.

Still working on my schedule for the year, but the half will be the NJ Marathon (Half) at Long Branch, NJ on May 1, 2010.  I am thinking about adding some trail runs this year to change things up a bit, so will include those in my full schedule next time I post.  Thanks for pulling together a full calendar!

Vineman 70.3                                            July 18
The 27th Annual TRI for FUN #3            Aug 7
Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon San Jose     October 3
I want to get a century ride or two in there as well, but I'm having a hard time finding anything that doesn't conflict with my schedule.
I might do the MS Waves to Wine ride, but I am not real fond of the events that require fund raising.  Never been real good at that.  I'd rather just pay an entry fee and have that go to the charity.

I don't recommend Waves to Wine anyway, even if there wasn't fundraising. :D
