Races & Goals 2010... A New Decade Is Upon Us
Okay, I have my HHH buddie for this year. I am doing the Hotter-n-Hell. My biking friend just joined the group, so, I know I can get the first 25 down with no problem. Now, that means I have to make from the bridge of the red river to place that sells rocks on the outskirts of Wichta Falls, and back to my house 1 time. Oh, boy the wind is against me on the way back. So that means, when the HHH comes to town, I will have the wind helping me on the last 25 miles. So the big problems will be the bridge right before the base and the BIG ass hill and it is a whopper where they take your picture, be sure to smile, and look like your having fun. (cause all you want to do is get off your bike and beat the camera mans ass, for taking your picture at that moment) but not to worry when you hit the top of that monster will it is DOWN HILL TO THE FINSH line WHOO HOOO. Now, I do not bike in a pack, I am a loner, so if you want to join me, I will meet you at the start line and see you at the spagetti dinner night before. Dont know what I am gona eat but I am still goin to the damn thing. Be forewarned, I won for whitest legs, and I will be entering that contest again this year. Double dare for me this year. Glad they have improved sunscreen. I do not want a repeat of the sun burn. GAME ON!
Dancbjammin, if you want to make an event out of it, just set it up. I am IN.
Anyone know where I can get the best damn bike seat? I have considerabley less butt padding. The seat will cost more that the bike, but I dont care!
If that old lady in the straw hat passes me again on her beach bike cruzer again, I swear I dont know if I can resist pushing her down. Her seat was so wide and comfy lookin, I was so jealous of that seat. grrrr. that was right before the brige before base, that just totally broke my concentration, I was pissed the rest of the way.

This is what I've committed to so far:
-Showdown at Sundown - Sprint Tri - April 17th
-Wildflower Long Course - May 1st
-SJ Muddy Buddy w/ Scott - June 6
-Barb's Race - HIM - July 31st
-Santa Cruz Tri - Olympic - Sept. 26th
-SJ Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon - Oct 3rd
-Ironman AZ - Nov 21st
I may also do the Cinderella Challenge (a Century Bike ride) and the US Women's Tri Series in San Diego that I did last year, but I'm not committed to them right now. I'm also thinking about doing CIM in Dec. Plus, our club is doing a destination race this year, probably in Aug. in Santa Barbara and I want to do that.
My main goal is to get faster. I'd like to be FoP at the Olympic distance and not just the Sprint and I'd like to qualify for the Boston Marathon at CIM.

I just need to get started doing SOMETHING again. Here are my goals for this year in no particular order.
1. Actually use the gym I am paying to not go to. :)
2. I am going to do a local 5k in April. It's a family event, no official registration ( as far as I know), and very laid back. Perfect for my first event, I think.
3. I want to do the C25K program. It might take me a while, but that's ok.

Small time here.........
5K or whatever race is available every month with the runners club.............going to do the dash of the Splash N Dash in Jan and Feb since I haven't broken the surface of the pool since I was pregnant with my 2 yr old son.......no less than one race per month all year.
Re-Join the Y and swim!!!!!!! Finances too unstable to add that into the mix until later this year but I'm not giving up. The DH is supposed to join me..........we'll see!
Do a half marathon in September and October....I'd still like to do the April one but I'm really unsure of my left knee.
Cross-train on my SIL unused stationary manual bicycle, that thing is a bear and it's collecting dust at her house, I'm going to knock the dust off starting tomorrow evening! The DH is going with.....supposed to workout too, maybe we can all get fit??
Use my SIL dusty weight equipment...........Bonus of using SIL stuff it's free, there's a bathroom, a kitchen and somewhere for my kids to tear things up. Oh and it's 5 min from my house. And free.

I did a 5k Resolution Run January 1st. May 2nd, I will do a 10K race. October is a 5K Run for the Cure; fundraiser for breast cancer where I will run for my cousin Denise who lost her battle last April. October is Legs for Literacy, where I will do my 1st half marathon. There will likely be other races in between, but those are the major ones.
