Hello all! My name is Peggy and I had RNY (lap) on 7/13/2006. (Hard to believe that is has been nearly two years!) At this point I have lost 150 pounds and am still on the pursuit to loose the last 80. I'll save you the math there...I started at 384 and now weight 234. I have made many lifestyle changes, but NOT ENOUGH of them! I am an activity freak! I do not sit still well and love pushing the adventure envelope. In 2007 I ran/walked my first 2 5k events and I wasn't last to come in :) This year I have my eyes set on a Triath-Sprint. I will swim 700 years, bike 12 miles and run (speed walk I'm guessing) 3.2 miles. I am in the process of laying out a training scheduled to help me reach the goal by September. In April I will sky dive for my 40th birthday! I'm a newly certified support group leader, host a weekly WLS radio show and am diving into supporting others during their journeys. I'm married, to the best support guy in the world, and have two dogs and two cats that almost rule my world. I'm a proud vegetarian and have NO issues getting in animal free protein ;) If you would like to know anything else, PLEASE ASK! I'm easy...don't tell!

Hi! My name is Julie and I had Lap Band surgery on 12/23/08. I live in Cedar City, UT. My heaviest was 351 lbs and according to my scales, I'm down to 298 as of this morning. I haven't been below 300 lbs in several years, so it feels good. Really good! I haven't determined a goal weight yet, since I'm not sure what is realistic. I figure I'll worry about it when I get below 200 lbs. Wow! That will be awesome! Besides the numbers on the scale going down, I can tell that I'm losing inches. My clothes fit looser and I'm wearing clothes I haven't fit into in years. Simple tasks are a little easier to do. I have more energy. My stationary bike and I have become best friends and I'm addicted to riding it. I have a goal to virtually ride it to New York City and am tracking my progress using Google Earth. So far, I'm still in Utah but getting close to the Colorado border. When the weather gets warmer, I'll start walking again - there is a nice trail right by my home! I love playing tennis and hiking in the nearby national parks. I'm single and enjoy being single but would love to get married to an awesome guy someday. Basically, I love life and am a cheerful, friendly person. :)

Hello everyone, My name is Julie and I had my RNY on  February 23, 2015, my starting weight was 289, last time I weighed my self (3 months ago) the scale said 245. I recently re-located to St. George Utah from Denver, Colorado to be closer to my grandchildren :-)

I feel that I have gotten off track with my diet since my move and so have been looking at websites ect. to try to get back where I need to be with diet and exercise. I am hoping to find encouragement and support in this group.

Hi All!  I am about 100 pound overweight and really wanting to have lap band surgery.  I live in Northern Utah, Ogden area.  I am hoping to learn from you all and where to start.  I guess insurance is the first challenge.  I work for the State of Utah and have PEHP Altius.  Has anyone worked with them?  It does not seem like they cover the surgery.  Do you still appeal etc...?  Any help and suggestions is much appreciated.  Have a great day!
