Here's mine:
1. I can walk! Before surgery, I could barely walk the 12 feet to my front door, but last weekend, I walked 3 miles at the Bariatric Dream Walk!
2. I now have NORMAL blood sugars! No more 300's for me!
3. I have decreased my insulin from 200 units a day to 8...yes....8 units a night...and it's still decreasing!
4. I eat right! For the very first time in my life, I am eating the right way and flollowing all the rules!
5. I take my vitamins! I may hate swallowing them, but I do it and it feels good to put good things in my body!
6. I work out! I go to the gym and I can actually see my fitness increasing. The first time I stepped on the elliptical, I couldn't do more than 1 minute! Now....I can do 1 hour (with a few small rests) and today I did 40 minutes with NO rests! It actually FEELS GOOD!
7. I can drive my car without my belly touching the steering wheel!!! That's got to be unsafe! LOL
8. I FINALLY made an appointment to register for school! I WILL finish my degree!
9. I can clean my house without hurting myself or feel like I would keel over!
10. I actually want to leave my house and have a good time with other people!
All I can say is...Life is good...and it's getting better everyday! Scale shmale!
So, what are your best non-scale victories???? =)
Hugs to all,
Heather P.S. I am soooooo grateful and soooooo blessed!

Since I came home from the hospital, I have been weighing myself almost every single day! (I know they said not to, but I decided that I would allow it, LOL) And, in the beginning, I would see a loss almost every single time I weighed. But, now that the loss has slowed a bit, I have been so worked up thinking that I am not losing anymore. And, it's seriously taking over my life and making me ill.
So, I realized that at 5 1/2 months out, I'm not "supposed" to be losing a pound a day anymore!
Duh, I know!
So, I will still weigh, so I have some sort of frame of reference. But, I am NOT going to let the scale make me sick and make me feel like I am not doing the right things! I know I am! So, I am going to try to focus more on my NSV's (Non-Scale Victories), of which I have many, already!!!
YaY for unchaining the scale from my ankle and letting my mind, heart, and body be free!! (As they should be!)
Hugs, Heather =)

Thanks!!
Now, at night, I try to drink a lot. That way, I am too busy drinking to eat..LOL
But, I do allow myself a snack at night--not every single night--but I do. I know Cussatti is SOOOOO against a snack, but ya know what? I don't care, LOL
I see how it could lead to bad things if it gets out of control, but I feel like depriving myself could be worse in the long run...so, I think it's okay to carefully indulge in things that are "allowed!" =)
Hugs to you,
Heather =)

I have to say my biggest downfall is the exercise part too, once the weather gets nicer and the rain stops I will be outside more with the kids and that helps. And the next biggest downfall is night eating. It seems like as soon as the kids go to bed, my head starts thinking what can I have. I don't keep junk in the house for me or for them so that's not a big issue, but I do look to munch on something, anything....
It is an old, old habit that helped me get where I was prior to surgery. I don't want to fall back into my old habits. It is a constant struggle.
