From: Bohemia--in Suffolk County--but don't hold that against me! haha
Surgery Type: Laproscopic RNY (Gastric Bypass)
Surgery Date: Dec. 1, 2008 (I am almost 4 months out)
Surgeon: Dr. Edward Cussatti in West Islip
Greatest WOW moment thus far: There have been many already--but the best thing is that my diabetes is under control and my meds are decreasing! YaY
Greatest Challenge: Motivation to Exercise--But Rachel is helping with that BIGTIME!! (Love ya!!)
Total lost thus far (Optional):I'm down 77 lbs since surgery and 92 all together
Other info about me:
Well, I am married to my wonderful husband, John--he is sooo supportive!
We don't have any children, yet, but we do have a very demanding cat named Cosmo! =)
I am so greatful for this surgery, for the support I have found here at OH and through my support groups, and all the fabulous people I have met throughout my journey!
And, I am so thrilled to be leading this group with Rachel--you'll soon see how wonderfully kind and caring she is!

From: Hicksville.... Deep down inside I AM a Hick and redneck... My roots are in the South!!

Surgeon: Dr. Alan Geiss (North Shore Syosset)
Greatest WOW moment thus far: My greatest wow moment so far was... Oh gosh I cant remember... I have had so many... getting under 350 was amazing! Being able to buy clothes and not have to make them was also AMAZIng for me! Being able to walk a mile and a half in 33 minutes was huge! Ah sooo many!
Greatest Challenge: Not drinking with my meals has been soo hard for me! I have a food addiction and I feel the need to finish what is on my plate! I have been getting better with that tho
Total lost thus far (Optional):I'm down 46 since surgery and about 60 total.... I have had some ups and downs gained a little and lost a little... its slow but steady these days tho!

Im married to my best friend and soulmate, Aryeh. No kiddies yet. In fact, the reason I had my surgery was so that I can get pregnant. Aryeh and I have 2 yummy puyppies, Simba and Nala. POSE LI is my new baby and I am so happy to being Leading this group with one of my best friends, Heather! She is a fabulous woman and a great friend.

Hi my name is Jill had open gastric bypass on Feb 9,2009 with Dr.Cooperstone in NorthShore Syosset hospital. As of today 8-11-09 I have lost 101pds and still going.
I am from Levittown and looking forward to meeting you all. Do you have any meetings or get togethers for walks or something along those lines?

Yes, we do have physical meetings and we also do physical activities each month. =)
Our meetings are held twice a month on Thursdays at 6:45pm at Speno Park in East Meadow. =)
This month, our meeting dates are the 13th (this week) and the 27th.
Also, tomorrow night, we are going line dancing at Jones Beach--it's from 7:30 til whenever. =) You don't have to be there the whole time--you can come and go at whatever time.
