Hi my name is Paula... I'm really new at this (this forum - and official support).  I had surgery in April of 2009 and have reached 'goal'... my goal of getting healthy I've been in this journey with my husband and have really enjoyed meeting new friends and traveling this journey with them.  Becoming a support 'leader' is a new part of this journey - I'm glad you are here to enjoy it with me...

So - please say HI and tell us a bit about yourself

I am finding my way around the forum....my surgery is in two weeks....I just finished my last "class" in graduate school minus a practi****ite, and i have my surgery on March 18. I think we have the same doctor. I am having trouble with her office, not her so much, but the support staff.

I am really looking forward to my surgery, I am having the bypass.

Was wondering if  anyone else had to do a colonoscopy prior to surgery....I did not, and am a  little worried about that, as I have had some issues with constipation due to some meds that I can't switch......not sure how that will be after surgery.

I am only planning to be in the hospital over night, i hope that is on the doctors calendar....I really can't stand Mercy Healthcare. My Knee doc quit two weeks ago, and as soon as I have time to find out where he went, I am gone......but I need this surgery and a plastic surgery first..I am so amazed at the weight loss prior to surgery. It's so easy to fake myself out and ssay to hell with this i don't ned the suefery, but the option of the life time portion control is there.

I lost a total of 165 pounds using a food 12 step, and then I hit a huge plateau with the weight, partly due to some mobility impariments. Anyway, my brain is fried, I just finished a long paper for school. So I will sign off for now. Wanted to rest. Good luck every one in their efforts
