Hello

I had a appointment with behaviour and nutrition doctor one month ago. Nutrition send me to change my eat habit, so i work on that now. I don't sure what is the exactly waiting time, I saw person who don't wait to much and other who wait for more time. I hope my day is close.

Good Luck.

Hi Roxanne!  I'm a newbie, so not a lot to tell you, other than I too would love a timeline or hint! I had my orientation on the 17th of August and waited till four weeks ago for a response. I've got an appointment on Dec 10th this Monday to see the nurse. I'm soooo excited!!! Let you know what they tell me!  Have a great weekend!

You have to see a psychologist as well? I was referred by my family doctor.

I saw a nurse and she did a small medical appointment.  But Other then that I have never seen a medical doctor.  I went to the dietician twice.  The first appointment and a follow up one.  And then the behaviorist i only saw once.  She felt there was no reason for a follow up.  However, i saw the psychologist for an assessment (3 hours).  She has cleared me for surgery and my next step is the pre-op class.  Were you referred by your GP or did you contact the clinic directly?

I wanted to get a sense of how the surgery process has been for everyone. Did the surgery go well? Did you have a lot of pain? Were you comfortable at the hospital and supported appropriately and given medication when requested? Any information to clarify and also help those of us nervous about the surgery would be very helpful.

I wanted to find out from everyone, especially since the hospital really doesn't give you a lot of information, what the steps are in the process. I know that you need to see the dietician and behaviorist but not sure how many times. If anyone could shed some light on the process, that would be greatly appreciated.

How many times do you need to see the dietician and behaviorist before being moved onto the next stage?

I was under the impression that a doctor had to assess you in order to be admitted into the program. Hmm, really weird how you've never seen a doctor.

Hi everyone!  I have a question.  Why have some of you seen Dr. Dent already?  I did the info thing and all my appointments.  I had my last appointment yesterday with the dietion and she said that I will now be sent to the pre-op class, but i have never once met with a Dr., nurses, but no doctor.  And I have to agree, they hater giving time lines!!!  I started all of this in Feb. 2012 (that was the info part) and then my first nurses appointment was on Aug 22, 2012.  So, it will take about a year to a year and a half roughly for everything.  Everyone that i know who has done this took about the same amount of time for the whole process as well.  Unless there is a major health issue.  Good luck everyone!!  It is going to be such a life change for all of us.  I am getting scared now that i will not be able to do it, but with amazing groups like this, i know i am not alone.
