I could have had my surgery earlier but because of work priorities, I wanted to book it in June when I knew things would be quiet. I was lucky to have been able to choose my date, very happy about that.

Have you received a surgery date yet? I start my Optifast on May 20th! Yikes!

hi Roxanne,

you say your surgery is booked for June 10 - exactly what you wanted. could you have gotten an earlier date?

I had my info session on Jan 4, blood work on Mar 27, I see Yarrow (Behaviorists) on Apr 8...I sure hope things move along quickly.

Don't worry your time will come. I think through this process i was getting frustrated at first but as time went on, i realized that there's a reason the process takes so much time. This is a major life changing event and you need the time to accept it, change your bad habits and understand why you were eating (emotionally) and deal with that before-hand or else things won't be good afterwards. I'm grateful that the process was so long actually which seems weird but i learned so much about myself and i grew so much on a personal level. I'm excited for the future and i can see myself being successful now.

A friend of mine suggested that i see a therapist before, during and after surgery to ensure that i was mentally prepared. She went to the USA to get it done so she didn't get that chance and she's having a hard time accepting. This was definitely the best advice that i received from this whole process. I also read the book called "End Emotional Eating" by Jennifer Taitz and it's awesome. It gives you tips and tricks as well as exercises to change your thinking habits. If you have the time, it's really worth checking out.

Sure wish I could get some insight as to when I can plan for mine

April 8,2013-Angiogram April 23,2013-Pre-Op Class May 22,2013-Scope May 24,2013-Meet Surgeon May 30,2013-Surgery FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13.

I just received my surgery date for June 10, 2013 which is what I wanted. I'm very happy yet anxious.

Thank you for the information. I called Lana this morning and my surgery is booked for June 10th which is exactly what I wanted.

I'm sorry to hear about your complications. I'm sure once they figure everything out and fix the problem that your life will return back to "normal".

Hi! So I called Lana the surgical coordinator two days after my appt and got a date. Call her tomorrow she is super nice and returns calls quickly 798-5555 ext 13946
