What stage are you at?

What step is everyone in there journey? I have seen the nurse, I have the nutrionist and the behavourlist on the 2nd of Oct and I have an appointment booked with the phycologist in November. I keep looking at all the before and after pictures and I can't wait. Is anyone nervours or scared. I am, but really excited too.

I went to the information session at the end of August and that's where I am in the process right now. I see Dr. Dent on the 5th of November and I'm hoping he can move things along a little faster. I can't wait for my surgery and my life to change. I'm nervous and scared but I try to keep my focus on the positive.

have you had your appointments with the behavourlist and the nutrionist yet. Why is it, if you don't mind me asking, that you get to see Dr. Dent so fast. I'm jealous! hehe! I can't wait for mine either. I feel the same as you. Can't wait for my life to change and very nervous. But also very excited!!! Good luck on the 5th!! I hope it works out!!!

No i haven't seen the behaviourist yet. He told me to come back in October if I haven't met with the surgeon yet and he would see what he could do to speed things up; we'll see i guess.

I did my ultrasound today, I have to do my blood tests at the end of December and then I'm meeting the dietician and behaviorist on Jan 8th. How many times do you have to see the dietician and behaviorist? I hope that everything will be ok and that I won't need to do more tests.

I'm new to this group... I wanted to add to this topic...

I'm waiting for my endoscopy (last medical appointment) the next steps would be to meet the surgeon/attend the pre-op class/get a surgery date..

I have been waiting a long time for the stages to move forward... some days it's difficult to remain positive when it seems all the other clinics move so much faster.

RNY in 2 days with Dr Riache from OWMC at the civic. My dates of the process and timeline ate on my profile I think under about me.

I run The O.W.L.S. (Ottawa Weight Loss Surgery) Closet. We are a local clothing exchange and social group stemmed off of a couple of the local support boards on Facebook and also OH members for those having had or going to have WLS. We meet monthly for a large clothing exchange and potluck in the East end of Ottawa.

I have been on "the list" since July and I attended an info session on September 14th. I have an appointment with Dr. Dent on Monday but I don't really know what stage I'm at.... Does anyone know if you are given a ballpark as to when surgery may be?

They don't seem to like giving timelines so you never really know how long it's going to take. It also depends on the person. They may require that you do more tests before signing you up for surgery. When you see Dr. Dent, he`ll probably book you an appointment for the dietician and behaviorist and also request an abdominal ultraound and blood tests that must be done at the Ottawa Hospital (any campus is fine). That is the stage that I`m at now so once I meet with the dietician and behaviorist on Jan 8th I`ll know more. I hope the process won`t be too long; I`ve been waiting since the end of June.

Thanks for your reply. I had my appt on Monday and he did request the ultrasound as you predicted- no blood work though because I just had it done in July and he said no need. I have my appt booked with the dietician and behaviorist on January 15th. I am REALLY not a patient person!
