I had my surgery on 10/9/14. I'm doing good. Getting most of my protein in, at least 48 oz of fluids. My incisions are healing well, one is very sore. I mistakenly bent over and have pain at that incision, but I won't bend down again for a while. I'm walking, off all meds! Im drinking the protein shakes from GNC, a lot of flavors and 25g per scoop. I've lost 6 pounds since Thursday. I'm thrilled for this site, so we can share our stories/journeys, so thank you!

I feel you on the water. I've been sipping and sipping, it feels like I constantly have the water bottle up to my lips!

The itching is driving me crazy but I have to tell myself that it's because the incisions are healing and that's a good thing!

Ohh! Let us know how your cream works!

Mine started itching, but not bad yet. I'm just trying to get all the liquids in without bloating all the time.  I take small amounts often, but I still think 64 oz is a lot. It's a learning cycle. Eventually I'm sure I'll get it. I hope the itching stops soon for you. My doctor order me a prescription cream which is medicated and reduces scarring, it has to be special ordered and shipped to me, I should get it WEDNESDAY.

I don't drink the shakes anymore, I only make and eat the ice cream :-)

I only shop online, I can't wait to shop in a real store and have variety!  I hear you about the daggers!!!  I had one person come up to me and call me a fat donut eating *****  That was 20 years ago and it still hurts.  I love what you said about smiling more, etc.  Well said!

I can't wait to shop in normal stores.  It's mortifying for my kids to go to "lane Bryant" so I can look for something, or any other store. My weight gain came rapidly after I was forced into menopause after a full hysterectomy, and they don't give hormones. I 40, and was told my body will eventually adjust. Years later, they said bc of my situation and age, I should've been on hormones immediately. Imagine how upsetting that was! So, now, I run out of breath fast. I'm looking forward to walking and working out and shopping without getting out of breath, and the daggers I get from people who think overweight people all just sit and eat junk food, I can do without them! I want to smile more, laugh louder and instead of hiding in the back of a crowd, I want to lose the weight and be seen, for who I am. I wish everyone the best on this journey!!!

Sounds like there's a common theme with the sore incision, the one that likely our stomachs were removed through. All of my incisions are fine except for that one also.

One thing that's been driving me crazy yesterday and today...My stomach itches like crazy!!!!! I know it's from the fact that the incisions are healing but holy crap, man!!
