Welcome Sooz319!
As you start your pre-op I will be having surgery. You are so luck if your diet is low carb. I can eat soup, but I know that I'm going to want food. For the first time ever, I'm dreaded Friday!
I will start my pre-op diet on October 6th. I don't have specifics yet, but I believe it is low carb, but not necessarily all liquid. I'll find out on October 1st. Thanks for starting this group!
I don't have the Magic Bullet but I have the Rocket Blender, it's kinda the same thing. I make my shakes in it every day and I love it! If I'm not mistaken, they both work the same way but I think the Magic Bullet has more power. I only use mine for protein, milk, chewable vitamins and sometimes fresh fruit in a smoothie.
I bought the Magic Bullet this weekend. I've heard great reviews on it, so I hope it works good for me. I bought some kale and fruit this weekend. I'm thinking about making me a smoothie to test it out. Does anyone have one or have experience with it?
Hi, My name is Tamiko and I am scheduled for surgery 10/6/14. Its being performed in Northern Kentucky. I'm 37 years old and I decided on WLS early this year. My brother successfully had the surgery last May. To date, he has lost 125 pounds and he looks and feels great. I'm married with 2 boys. I'm currently at my highest weight 296 when I started this journey and I'm only down to 294! I knew it was time because I was in so much pain from he weight on my knees. At times, I feel like I'm a 90 year old lady, I hurt so bad and move so slow.
I wish everyone luck throughout their journey!
It's ok, neither do I. Like I said in the introduction, I just wanted to bring together those of us who are having our surgeries in October in hopes of inspiring each other along the way :)
I'm definitely going to have to try it because as much as I craved sweets a couple of months ago, you'd never know it by how much they're annoying me in the form of shakes now!
Are you walking or exercising to keep your mind busy? I honestly don't know if I would have the strength, but I've been told to stay busy.
I'm in the middle of day 2 and I'm feeling a little icky but mostly it's the stomach growling that's getting to me.
I hear it gets better after day 3-4, but we'll see. I've also heard that days 2, 3, and 4 were really hard but maybe it just hasn't hit me yet lol
I'm drinking 20 oz of water between each shake, and when I start getting the hunger pangs I guzzle more water, it usually makes it subside for a little while or at least until it's time to drink another shake.
