Hi!
I made it through the week-end. I ate two crackers . But I bounced back. I've been incident free since then and I'm down 6 pounds!
Welcome Susie!
It's always good to have someone close to you who's supportive, it helps more than anyone can imagine! I'm also glad you found us, I really hope that it will help us all to support each other along our journeys! Let us know when you find out what your preop diet will consist of so we can help you along the way!
Hi! I am so glad to have come across this group. My name is Susie and my surgery is October 15th. My husband is supportive, but we both wonder what that looks like. I have four sons from 19-9. The oldest two are away in school. I have not planned on telling the boys I am doing this procedure. It feels too personal or I am too afraid of failure.
I start my pre-op diet on Wednesday -- I find out what I have to do on Tuesday. I know the gist. I have done cleanses and things in the past. I am less worried about the drinking and more worried about peeing every 20 minutes. Plus sipping seems like it will be tough as I drink lots of water now.
Thanks again and I look forward getting to share with everyone.
Hi Matt! Congrats on sticking with it!
Hi Tamiko! Our starting weights are very similar! I'm 5'7" and my consult weight back in July was 293. Before my preop diet I was weighing in at 284 I'm on day 5 of that now and my home scale says I'm 276 but I don't know whether or not to trust it so I'll wait till I get weighed in at my preop appt on 10/6 and THEN I'll believe it lol
I'm 40 years old, I'll be 41 in October so my surgery on 10/7 is my birthday gift to myself :)
Good Luck on your journey and remember, we're all in this together!
I just posted on your post in the VSG forums lol I didn't realize you posted here too so I'll just copy/past
You're going to do fine! I felt the same way the first day or two! I can sympathize with the idea of "What did I get myself into!?" But I assure you it gets better. I'm finishing up day 5 and I'm feeling good! You have a lot of people here on OH that you can vent to, we all have either been through it, are going through it or will go through it soon enough. Hang in there! You can do this!!!
PS: My 15 year old is learning to cook now too....it's a good thing to learn!
So I started my liquid diet today. So far, I'm hanging in there. Luckily, I'm able to eat soup. That's what I ate for dinner tonight and I felt like I was eating with my family. Although of course they had something a heck of a lot better. I only had one moment when I thought I was going to cry because I just don't know what I got myself in to. My 15 year old had to learn how to cook today. I didn't trust myself with making dinner. Sorry for the random thoughts......
I wish there was a calendar we could all add our surgery dates to, but I guess this will have to work! Introduce yourselves!
I'm Yolanda, I'm having surgery on 10/7 and I'm currently on day 4 of my liquid preop diet which I've been kind of chronicling HERE if you're interested. I'm super excited!!
