October 2014 Sleevers
Welcome to all of the new members! When's the big day?
I wish there was a calendar we could all add our surgery dates to, but I guess this will have to work! Introduce yourselves!
I'm Yolanda, I'm having surgery on 10/7 and I'm currently on day 4 of my liquid preop diet which I've been kind of chronicling HERE if you're interested. I'm super excited!!
Hey Yolanda,
You must be getting pretty excited! Everything still on schedule for surgery next Monday? I start my pre-op diet on Monday. I will consider my self super lucky that it's not liquid, just carb-restricted. Therefore, I won't do a bit of complaining about what I can't eat during my pre-op diet.
Sending good vibes your way as you get closer to your date!

Thank you! Everything's on track for this week! Preop appt with surgeon, anesthesiologist and nurses on Monday morning, surgery on Tuesday. Super excited!
Keep us updated on how your preop diet is going when you start. If you have anything come up, we're here to help!
This is my first chat group too and this forum has been an awesome resource! My surgery is on the 20th, so I'm excited (and anxious) to hear how your surgery went.
How is your pre-op diet going? It seems like everyone has different pre-op diet rules. I'm on day 3 and I made the mistake of trying to cut out caffeine as well as be on a low carb diet. The headache was horrible and I was a rip-roaring ****** for two days. I've decided to wean off the caffeine and everyone likes me much better! Last night I had enough carbs left to have a small piece of bread with peanut butter and a teaspoon of jam. OMG, heaven!

Hi Sooz, I feel guilty saying I am on a 1400 calorie diet. It really isn't hard for me with the aids of my Bariatric shake cookbook and the program 'my fitness pal'. Those clear liquid diets look aweful!
Oh my, you have to give up caffeine too? What a bummer! Luckily all I drink is water so I Dont have that battle too...
I am camping this weekend so as my family is munching more than usual I will be counting calories. Not complaining though, at least I can eat food.
Ellen
Hi Ellen!
Don't feel guilty about your pre-op diet! I think we both have it better than many who are required a liquid diet. I am feeling satisfied on my low carb plan because I can have some rich protein-y things. The caffeine weaning is going much better than the cold turkey plan I was on. I will need to be caffeine free at least 4 weeks post-op so thought I'd start early.
Good luck with the camping trip!

I'm so sorry I haven't been on the group forum in the last week.. I had my surgery on the 7th, and I've been a little out of it at times since I got home on the 8th lol
I'm doing pretty good, getting in mostly all of my protein and water, not much pain the last several days, but the one incision that my stomach got pulled out through is still sore.
