Anyone required to do a liquid diet pre-surgery?

I'm starting my presurgery liquid diet tomorrow and I'm very nervous about it. I'm pretty sure I'll be ok, but that doesn't make the anxiety about it go away. I have 2 weeks of protein shakes and water and then one day of clear liquids the day before my surgery 10/7. What are your requirements, have you started it and how is it going if you have?

I start mine on Friday and I'm nervous as well.  I went grocery shopping and did all that I could for my family and picked up some things for myself. My heart beats faster every morning I wake up knowing the day is getting closer.

I have a question for you. How did you get your signature? I want to add one.

I kinda went overboard the last few days before my liquid diet and now, it's 7:40pm on my first day of liquid diet and I'm so hungry! I've never gone all day with no food at all. I just made dinner for my kids and it was soooo hard!!

Everyone keeps saying it gets easier but right now I'm having a hard time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

The signature, go to My OH, click on Health Tracker, then Tickers and Widgets, Create New Ticker. If you've filled out your weight information on the Body section of Health Tracker, then  your ticker should reflect that information. There are some check boxes to add your ticker to your signature, etc.

I was so hoping the shake would help with my hunger. It sounds like I need to take some time off from work. When I get hungry I get extremely cranky and that is NOT a good thing.

I'm finding the shake is helping somewhat, but not for long. I've heard that after about the 3rd day, you're not really hungry anymore. I hope that's the case. Overall, today hasn't been horrible. I'm just a big baby who's used to eating all the time LOL

Hang in there ladies, we can do this. I start my liquid diet Monday 9/29 but along with the protein shakes, I'm allowed sugar free pudding made with skim milk, nonfat yogurt as long as there are no fruit pieces, sugar free popsicles and soup either cream or broth with no pieces. Unjury has a chicken flavored protein packet that tastes like a cup of chicken soup. Good luck.

I'm definitely going to need to get some of that Unjury chicken flavor. Sounds so good right now!

We can do this!!
